Social networking sites are known for their drama—“OMG, I can’t believe she friended him!“—and MySpace’s executive suites don’t seem to be any exception, as company chief operations officer Amit Kapur, senior engineering VP Jim Benedetto, and senior product strategy VP Steve Pearman have all jumped ship in favor of positions at an undisclosed startup company. Rumors of the move have been circulating all week, but MySpace CEO Chris DeWolfe confirmed it in a statement today.

Sony Gets High with Altus Headphones
Members of the iPod generation are pretty used to blowing out their hearing by pumping tunes through their earbuds or headsets-of-choice at levels intended to drown out road noise, traffic, and jet aircraft. But now, Sony’s putting a new twist on the idea, enabling music lovers to damage their hearing at frequencies they can’t even perceive.

SIRIUS the Official Satellite Radio Partner of the NFL, announced that Monday Night Football analyst and legendary NFL head coach John Madden has signed on with SIRIUS NFL Radio, the first 24/7year-round radio channel devoted entirely to the NFL. ExtremeTech’s Portable Media Center Review
We like what Alexander Grundner of eHome Upgrade has to say about ExtremeTech’s review:
“ExtemeTech posts a scathing review of the Creative and Samsung Portable Media Center players set to hit the shelves either this month or next. If you decide to read the article, get ready for so much added (and useless) commentary that Gizmodo would be ashamed to publish it. “
What Jim Louderback seems to miss is that there is a strong demand for these devices. Archos has already been profitting from this new market with their non-proprietary players, so it only seems natural for Microsoft and the other players to jump on-board. Jim goes on to say:
Bluetooth comes to the Apple iPod
“Bluetooth is coming to the iPod, in the shape of third-party add-ons. The first vendor to break cover, Extreme Tech’s Jim Louderback has discovered, is XtremeMac, which is creating a Bluetooth streaming attachment that beams the iPod’s audio to speakers: which could be a headphones, a car hi-fi or a home entertainment center. XtremeMac uses InfiniteRange’s RangeScan chipset.
It would immediately solve a problem for drivers in countries where ultra short-range transmitters, such as the iTrip, have been banned by the regulatory authorities. And Jim’s pretty excited: he calls it the first useful Bluetooth application he’s seen. “
