Clearwire is trying to get a jump on the pending 4G mobile broadband world by rolling out high-speed WiMax technology: so far the service is up and running Baltimore and Portland, Oregon, and the company is promising more major markets will come online during 2009 with as many as 80 markets online by the end of 2010. To that end, Clearwire and Cisco have just announced a deal that will put Cisco gear at the heart of Clearwire’s core infrastructure…and Cisco plans to roll out WiMax gear for consumers, including routers under its Linksys brand.

New Advanced Digital Set Top Box Announced
First Capital International,Inc. the Designer and Manufacturer of its prepackaged VIP Systems (www.VipHomeSystems.com), a state-of-the-art Home Automation/Media Distribution and Video observation system, announced today that VIP Systems will introduce to the market a new, all-in-one set-top entertainment box in June of this year.
The company has produced several prototypes and has successfully tested it through the Company’s worldwide network of dealers. Additionally, the company had a successful test through the Consumer Focus Group of one of the Fortune 100 companies.

Sweden beats U.S. as top Web-savvy nation
One other European country, Denmark, was also more aggressive in taking advantage of the Internet than the United States, according to research carried out by IBM and the intelligence unit of British magazine The Economist.
Of the 60 countries surveyed, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan were at the bottom of the list with 2.37 and 2.52 points respectively out of a possible 10.
Sweden scored 8.67, up from 8.32 a year ago. The United States was little changed at number three with 8.43 points, on par with the Netherlands and Britain.
