Consumer electronics manufacturers have apparently decided that handheld digital video recorders are going to be a hot category this holiday season; to that end, Memorex has announced its new MyVideo and MyVideo HD digital camcorders, designed to be inexpensive pocket camcorders kids, parents, and amateur video enthusiasts can use to easily capture and share video without investing too much hard-to-come-by cash on a video capture solution.

Memorex Pushes Blu-ray Under $300
After getting snagged at the $400 price point for years and budging no lower, even after the collapse of HD-DVD, manufacturers have finally broken through the old price barrier and pushed Blu-ray prices to an all new low. Memorex set the new bar on Thursday with the MVBD-2510, a budget player that will retail for $269.
The no-frills machine offers support for Blu-ray Profile 1.1 (though the latest is 2.0,) which offers Bonus View, a picture-in-picture capability for playing director’s commentary and other extras alongside a regular movie. It outputs 1080p video through HDMI, and includes analog 5.1 audio jacks to supplement its 7.1 HDMI digital audio output.

Memorex Gets in Two Digital Photo Frames
Consumer electronics brand Memorex has rolled out two new entries in its digital photo frame line, and what they lack in tech-savvy specifications and capabilities, they may make up for in price, distribution (Memorex is distributing them through K-Mart), and a special appeal to snap them up as Mothers’ Day gifts—perhaps pre-loaded with family photos!
"Digital picture frames are becoming so popular in the home and as gift items," said Memorex brand manager Carla Pihowich, in a statement. "Memorex has designed these frames to be a cut above the ordinary design, with feminine graphics that will delight the mom in everyone’s life."
