Say hello to Morro. That’s the name Microsoft is giving to its free antivirus software. According to reports, Morro is currently been trialed, and a beta will soon be available.
Of course, this isn’t the company’s first venture into this area. Windows Live OneCare didn’t exactly set the world on fire, and it will be withdrawn once Morro is available, which should be by the end of the year at the latest. Morro will just be an antivirus program.
As part of its latest round of patches, Microsoft added code that detects and deletes the widespread Internet Antivirus Pro family of fake security software, scareware programs.
