Irate consumers are filing class action lawsuits against both Apple and AT&T, alleging the companies are engaging in unlawful business practices and illegal monopolistic behavior, The complaints center on service restrictions on the Apple iPhone which bind it to the AT&T wireless network, and Apple’s recent iPhone software update which locked out third party applications and “bricked”—rendered inoperable—some number of “hacked” iPhones.

John Madden Joins SIRIUS Satellite Radio
SIRIUS the Official Satellite Radio Partner of the NFL, announced that Monday Night Football analyst and legendary NFL head coach John Madden has signed on with SIRIUS NFL Radio, the first 24/7year-round radio channel devoted entirely to the NFL. Madden will serve as commentator on SIRIUS NFL Radio’s Sunday pre-game program, The Stadium Tailgate Show.

Music piracy suit targets 261 downloaders
The lawsuits, filed in federal courts around the country, targeted people who make songs on their computers available to others online — making a distinction between people who download and those who distribute. The suits did not name Internet file-sharing services like Kazaa, Gnutella and Grokster, which enable the downloading of millions of songs.
By late Monday, no suits had been filed in Sacramento, but about 20 were filed in federal courts in San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose.
