Oppo Digital built its reputation on upscaling DVD players that offer high quality image processing and output at prices that didn’t require customers to be card-carrying Home Cinematiphiles or take out second mortgages on their homes just because they liked movies. Last year, the company announced it would be bringing its savvy to Blu-ray players, and Oppo BDP-83 Blu-ray Disc Player is now finally available, offering high-end Blu-ray performance for a $500 price tag.
Oppo Digital today announced a new DVD player with HDMI and high definition up-conversion for HDTVs and projectors. The new Oppo Digital DV-970HD is priced at $149 and looks to be available now.
The DV-970HD, said Oppo Digital, up-converts standard DVD to a high-definition signal and also has HDMI output. It can also output a native 480i/576i resolution over HDMI. The player sports a slim, modern design and offers USB support as well as an integrated 4-in-1 flash memory card reader for expansion options.
