Palm Treo fans on the Verizon Wireless network may have some reason to rejoice today: the company is finally offering the Palm Treo 755p smartphone. The device—available in an exclusive deep blue-green—is available for online ordering now, and will be in Verizon Wireless stores in early January.
The announcement comes over six months after the 755p arrived at Verizon Wireless competitor Sprint—and the disparity doesn’t end with the product’s timing. Verizon Wireless is asking $399.99 for the phone after a $50 mail-in rebate and a two-year service agreement, although customers who buy the right voice plan can also get a $100 credit toward the Treo 755p. Sprint is routinely offering the phone online for $249 with a similar service commitment.
