Introduction

If Panasonic’s Lumix DMC-FP8 looks a lot like the rugged TS1 the company launched earlier this year, it’s because the two cameras have a lot in common. Although the FP8 won’t survive a dip in the drink or a drop to the floor like its brawnier brother, both use a unique folding-optic design that eliminates moving parts outside the camera. And priced at $300, this stripped-down, classed-up model is $80 cheaper. Does the basic camera design hold up when deprived of its tank-like cladding? We found out.

Panasonic Reveals to Mobile Americans a New Landline Phone

Communication corporations losing landline customers by the thousands since 2008 have been offering new mobile options, while electronics manufacturer Panasonic seems to going in the opposite direction with releasing a new landline phone.  Panasonic announced today they’ve upgraded their Bluetooth-enabled landline phones with the new KX-TG9382T that allows users to transfer up to 600 contacts from their cellular phonebook.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1 is a Micro Four Thirds that offers a 12 megapixel resolution for photographs and can also capture high definition video footage. The DMC-GF1 features a 3-inch LCD viewfinder along with an integrated flash. Also included is optical image stabilization, a dust cleaning system, and a new "My Color" mode which offers a variety of preset effects.

‘Tis the season of digital camera introductions, and Panasonic doesn’t want to be left out of the loop: today the company introduced its new Lumix DMC-GF1 digital camera, packing the capability to record high-definition video into a Micro Four Thirds System. Micro Four Thirds cameras support interchangeable lenses—just like DSLRs—but don’t use the same prism-and-mirror setup, making it possible to pack the camera into a much smaller body—the result is a camera with DSLR-like quality that isn’t a pain to carry around.

The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FP8 is a 12.1 megapixel digital point-and-shoot camera with 4.6x optical zoom. It offers .95 second start-ups and 2.3 frames per second with full resolution. Users can switch to iA mode and the camera will select the best of six scenes modes to match the subject. The back of the FP8 features illuminated buttons so shooting in dark settings is a breeze.
