Those iPhone holdouts who were waiting for Sony’s vaunted Xperia X1 to come stateside can finally take a breath – and take out their wallets. On Wednesday, Sony revealed that it would make the phone available for the first time to U.S. consumers through its Web site on Black Friday, and also slipped out the asking price of $800.
As previously announced, the X1 boasts a 3-inch touch screen, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and 3G access, along with a 3.2-megapixel digital camera. It runs Windows Mobile 6.1 with a custom Sony-Ericsson panel interface reminiscient of the iPhone’s.
