AOL Rolls Out Remote Access Service

AOL said yesterday they were rolling out a new premium service geared towards allowing users to remotely access their personal computers from any Internet-connected PC. Link2PC is powered by WebEx Communications and will be available at $6.95 per month for up to two host computers.

Link2PC, said AOL, uses a downloadable application and its Web site to create “a virtual desktop through the Web that mirrors the view of the desktop on the user’s own machine”. Through this secure virtual desktop users can interact with the remote computer to use programs, open and edit documents and access, share and print files.  Read more...

Vodafone Releases 702MO And 702sMO Phones

Vodafone K.K. today announces that as part of its new 3G lineup it will commence sales of the Vodafone 702MO, a clamshell 3G model by Motorola, on 11 December in the Kanto-Koshin region with a nationwide rollout thereafter. The Vodafone 702sMO, a candy bar style 3G handset also by Motorola, will be offered from 17 December in the Kanto-Koshin region and other regions afterward.

While sporting different designs, the Vodafone 702MO and 702sMO have common features. Both of the 3G models have integrated twin cameras on the back and front so customers can easily enjoy seeing and hearing one another while video calling.  Read more...

The Vodafone 702NK (Nokia 6630) is a compact, candy bar type 3G handset with a 1.30 megapixel camera and a host of additional features. The handset also features PC Link for synchronizing schedules and contacts with a PC so customers can access their schedules on the go at any time.

The main features of the Vodafone 702NK (Nokia 6630) are as follows:
– 1.30 megapixel camera and compact, candy bar form factor
– PC Link for synchronizing calendar and contacts with a PC
