Ceiva’s New Digital Photoframe Receives Images via MMS

Ceiva Pro 80 Digital Photo Frame (thumb)

Ceiva Logic has announced its new Ceiva Pro 80 Digital Photo Frame, a new entry in its line of well-received consumer photo frame and service. In some ways the Pro 80 is an ordinary digital photo frame, storing images and enabling users to add load via USB or even off their home network. But the Pro 80 has one other interesting twist: users can send new images to it from their phones using MMS messaging.

The marketplace for digital photoframes might be a little saturated, but Sony hopes some Swarovski crystals will help its new limited edition S-Frame digital photo frame stand out from the crowd. In addition to normal photoframe features—a 7-inch LCD display, a gigabyte of internal storage, USB input, a card slot, utility features, etc., etc.—Sony’s latest photoframe is embellished sport embedded Swarovski Elements crystals on opposing quarters, helping bust digital photoframes out of the pure-geek crowd and put them more squarely in the sights of…grandmothers? Teenage girls? We’re really not sure.

LG DP889 Portable Photo Frame and DVD Player

Much like cell phones, GPS units, and just about every other electronic device under the sun, digital picture frames seem to snowball more and more features every month. While earlier tricks such as playing MP3s and displaying RSS feeds have been quaint, really useful features have been quite elusive.

LG takes one step closer to a truly useful and multifunctional LCD frame with its DP889 8-inch portable photo frame, which just doesn’t do static images – it does DVDs. At home, it’s a stationary centerpiece for photos, and on the road, it’s a portable entertainment system to stave off boredom and the snoring of the guy next to you.

Mustek Ality PF-T80R Digital Photo Frame

Mustek is not a name you hear every day in the consumer electronics space. Digital picture frames aren’t exactly popular consumer electronics either. Put the two together though and you actually have a digital picture frame, developed by Hong Kong-based technology company Ality, which looks like it could seriously draw some buyers when it hits retail later this month.

The Mustek Ality PF-T80R Digital Photo Frame has an eight-inch active matrix TFT color display which offers up an impressive 800 x 600 resolution, 4:3 aspect ratio and a mirror-like surface. The frame also has a stylish look about it complete with touch-sensitive buttons which seem to blend smoothly into the black frontal finish.
