Pioneer Announces PDP-424MV Plasma

“The PDP-424MV fills an important place in the public display market, adding to Pioneer’s family of professional plasma displays,” said Jim Krodel, director of industrial display for Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. “There is occasionally a need in the market to utilize a VGA panel for a specific installation. Pioneer Launches New Elite Plasma Displays

Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. today launches two new high definition Elite PureVision plasma monitors that give professional A/V integrators great flexibility to provide high definition displays in their custom installations.  The 43-inch PRO-810HD and 50-inch PRO-1010HD enable a professional installer to utilize Pioneer’s high quality, PureVision plasma displays with the high definition set-top tuner of their choice.  Each display features two HDMI inputs for a pure digital connection to external sources.  The displays are compatible and easily integrated with control systems utilizing the IR and RS-232 ports.

Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc., a leader in home entertainment technology, previews its redesigned DigitaLibrary home networking technology at this week’s National Cable and Telecommunications National Show.  In keeping with the show’s theme, the next new thing, Pioneer will demonstrate the next new thing in home entertainment, which for the first time allows consumers to stream high definition television content to any room in the home.  DigitaLibrary forms the foundation of a modular open systems framework that will enable next-generation technologies such as uni-directional and bi-directional OpenCable, CableHome home networking, advanced TV commerce and audience participation, advanced telecommunication services, and home automation. 

Pioneer Announces External 8x DVD/CD Writer

Consumers who want to burn their own DVDs or CDs quickly, accurately and easily need look no further than the new 8X external DVD/CD writer introduced today by Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. The DVR-S706 can be connected to an existing computer through a firewire or USB port to enable DVD and CD burning.  At 8X, a consumer can burn a DVD-R or +R disc in as little as 15minutes.  With Pioneer’s advanced precision recording technology, users are assured optimum recording performance, even if the blank disc is slightly irregular.  Additionally, new quietdrive technology reduces operating noise and vibration, making the burning process practically silent.

The DVR-S706 is well suited for customers who want to burn movies, slideshows, data and music to DVD and don’t already have a DVD burner in their computer.  It’s also a logical choice for someone with two or more computers and a desire to burn discs in multiple locations by easily disconnecting their drive and moving it to another computer location. 

Pioneer Debuts New Audio Recievers For 2004

With multi-channel music and movies continuing to drive sales of DVD players, consumers are adding five, six, and seven speaker configurations to their home theater systems.  As a result, Pioneer continues to develop new audio/video receivers with features to enhance the home theater environment.  Three of the new receivers offer Pioneer’s multi-channel acoustic calibration (MCACC), allowing consumers the ability to easily and accurately set-up their speakers with optimal performance based on the room environment.

Pioneer Offers Dolby Digital Headphones

Die-hard video gamers, movie and music enthusiasts now have a new ally in the fight to be entertained at any time and at the decibel level of their preference.  Night owls also can get their entertainment fix without waking the rest of the house.  And, since the headphones are wireless, it can all be done without fear of tripping over wires.

Pioneer introduces DVR-A07 8X DVD writer

The new drive also records high-speed DVD-RW and +RW discs at up to 4x speed, and CD-R and CD-RW discs at up to 24x speed.  By supporting the DVD Forum’s DVD-R and DVD-RW disc formats as well asthe +R and +RW formats, Pioneer is helping to eliminate format confusion, which has become a growing problem for potential buyers. 

 â€œWith the launch of the industry’s first “8×8” dual format writer, Pioneer is once again putting the needs of the user at the top of our priority list,” said Andy Parsons, senior vice president of industrial video and mass storage sales and marketing at Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc.  “The DVR-A07 will save users valuable time by writing DVD and CD discs as fast as recordable DVD technology allows at this point.  It also lets users focus on writing DVDs instead of worrying about which disc format they need to buy.” 

Pioneer intros DVR-SK12D slim DVD/CD writer

With the DVR-SK12D, on-the-go professionals can easily connect this stylish recordable DVD/CD writer and transport it with them wherever they go. The new drive is 138 x 22 x 162mm and weighs justover one pound. It supports multiple DVD media formats and plugs into standard IEEE 1394 (FireWire) and USB 2.0 ports.

With the growing popularity of writable DVD for the general public, there has been some confusion about which drive peripherals support the various formats of writable DVD media. To reduce consumer confusion in the marketplace, the DVR-SK12D supports multiple types of writable DVD media; an industry first in the slim drive category.   The DVR-SK12D can read and write to the DVD Forum’s recording formats, DVD-R/DVD-RW as well as +R/+RW discs.  In that way, the new slim drive is similar to Pioneer’s other award-winning drives like the DVR-A06 internal half-height drive and the recently announced DVR-S606 external half-height drive.

Pioneer unveils external DVD/CD writer

Pioneer announced that a new multiple format external DVD/CD writer will be available in mid-September at a suggested retail price of $299. With the DVR-S606, Pioneer delivers its first externaldrive in a sleek industrial design that is quick and easy to install. The drive can sit vertically or horizontally, supports multiple DVD media formats, and plugs into standard IEEE 1394 (Firewire)and USB 2.0 ports.

The DVR-S606 is a high capacity optical storage system based on the Pioneer DVR-A06, the company’s sixth-generation internal recordable drive. It enables users to write a wide variety of files to DVD for storage or playback in other DVD devices. In common with the DVR-A06, the DVR-S606 is compatible with the DVD Forum’s recording formats, DVD-R/DVD-RW as well as +R/+RW discs – a move that directly responds to consumers’ requests that DVD writers should handle various formats in order to reduce confusion in the marketplace.  

Pioneer’s DVR-310-S to hit store shelves

The first new DVD recorder, which will hit store shelves this month, is Pioneer’s DVR-310-S.  This entry-level DVD recorder allows families to replace outdated VCRs with simple one-button recording for televised content as well as home movies directly onto DVD discs.  Before the Christmas season is over, Pioneer Electronics, a world leader in home entertainment technology, will introduce three additional products including two that combine the benefits of home DVD recording with the convenience of the popular TiVo® service and hard drive storage capabilities.
