Oppo Scales Up With DV-981HD DVD Player

Oppo Digital has unveiled the DV-981HD, its new upscaling DVD player with HDMI connectivity connectivity and an attractive price tag. The DV-981HD ca, take standard-resolution video content on DVD and up-convert it to 480p/576p, 720p, 1080i, and even 1080p using DCDi by Faroudja video processing, which offers progressive scan technology, film mode detection, TrueLife enhancement, and adaptive noise reduction. Incoming video is analyzed on a pixel-by-pixel basis to detect angles lines and edges, which are then processed into smooth images without visible artifacts or “jaggies.”

Hitachi Performa Debuts CP-RS55 Projectors

The expectations for performance in video displays has risen consistently in recent years, and projector manufacturers have responded with advanced technology that allows for increasingly brighter and clearer images,” said Pete Denes, director of sales for Hitachi America. “However, until now, the market has struggled to develop a projector that can be transported from the office to the home and back while maintaining the current standards of quality. The Performa CP-RS55 dramatically alters the face of the marketplace with its ability to transcend the notion that projectors are limited to use in fixed locations.”

With a brightness of 1,500 ANSI lumens but weighing only 4.84 pounds, the new Hitachi Performa CP-RS55 projector features the high-end performance required for use in corporate, as well as small business environments, and an intuitive user interface makes it ideal for home use.

Philips debuts integrated digital systems

The system also features multichannel Super Audio CD, to provide a total immersion in music. Including a 100-Watt subwoofer and complete 5-speaker package, the LX8200SA features a full 300-Watts of total power.

ViewSonic debuts VPW450HD plasma display

With a native resolution of 1024×1024, the VPW450HD supports all data sources and video signals including HDTV, Enhanced Definition Television (EDTV) and standard television.   A contrast ratio of up to 1000:1,   brightness level of up to 1000 cd/m2 and XtremeViewâ„¢ ultra-wide viewing angles up to 160 degrees make the display ideal for high performance television and video, as well as today’s advanced presentation applications, such as videoconferencing, advertising and retail signage. 

“As we see more digital content, higher resolutions are required to achieve the best quality,” said Jennifer Feldman, senior product manager, ViewSonic Corp.  “The VPW450HD allows customers to view brilliant, clear large screen pictures while spending a fraction of the price of comparable large screen displays.”
