Samsung has brought the "Touch of Color" (ToC) design motif from its flat-screen HDTVs to its camcorder line, with its new "ergonomic" SMX-C14 and SMX-C10. The new camcorders feature 10× optical zoom, hyper image stabilization, a swivel-out 2.7-inch LCD display, and Samsung’s Active Angle lens. The camcorder is also designed to be held in a more relaxed manner that reduced stress on a user’s wrist and elbow while keeping the LCD screen out of the user’s direct line of sight, making it easier to keep an eye on a subject.

Samsung Rolls Out 2009 PMP Lineup
Although Samsung’s 2009 PMP lineup hasn’t really been much of a secret, the company has officially taken the wraps off its not-very-helpfully-named P3, Q2, and U5 media players, hoping to appeal to a broad range of portable media users who aren’t necessarily enamored with the Apple universe.
“We’re excited to introduce our latest portable multimedia players, which combine our best-in-class form factor and comprehensive feature set with Samsung’s iconic design,” said Samsung Electronics’ Reid Sullivan, in a statement. “Our 2009 MP3 products reinforce our brand commitment to providing consumers with innovative, high quality portable entertainment devices that deliver interactivity consumers now expect in their personal media products.”
Panasonic Announces Blu-ray Disc Player
Panasonic yesterday released a few details about their first upcoming Blu-ray Disc player. The new DMP-BD10 is expected to be available this September for less than $1,500.
The DMP-BD10, said Panasonic, will make use of the Blu-ray Disc technology being backed by a trade group heavily influenced by consumer electronics rival Sony. Though Panasonic gave out few details about their new Blu-ray Disc player, they did say it would feature
Panasonic debuts DMR-E60/DMR-E80 recorders
Panasonic introduces two DVD recorders as part of a new worldwide “DIGA†DVD recorder line. Model DMR-E60, which features an SD Memory Card slot, a PCMCIA slot and a DV input terminal, is an extremely versatile unit designed for easy interaction with digital still cameras and digital camcorders. The DMR-E60 has a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $599.95 and will be available at retail in May. The new DMR-E80 DVD/hard disk recorder features 80GB of built-in memory. It provides up to 104 hours of recording time on its hard drive and up to 6 hours on a removable 4.7 GB DVD-RAM disc (both in Extended Play mode.) The DMR-E80 has an MSRP of $699.95 and will be available at retail in July.
