Games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero may have created a whole new class of gaming where, instead of paying $20 to $40 for a game, players now spend twice to four times more for a game and some plastic doo-dads they can jump around with—or hit. And the music industry has fallen in love with the genre, realizing it can turn its deep library of classic rock riffs and leather-clad rockers into a new revenue stream.

Konami Brings Metal Gear, Castlevania News
Following major press conferences from the “big three” at this year’s E3, smaller Japanese developer Konami stepped up to the plate on Wednesday to share tidbits about its own upcoming titles [PDF]. News from the company included some of its most popular franchises, including Metal Gear, Castlevania, and Silent Hill.
Metal Gear fans won’t have to wait long for their taste of fresh content: marketing vice president Anthony Krause announced first thing that an expansion pack for Metal Gear Online was due to be released Thursday. Konami will also put on tournaments for the game at this year’s Comic-Con and Tokyo Game Show.
