If you thought product placement in movies was getting out of control after watching Iron Man and spotting obvious plugs for Audi, LG, Burger King, and Dell (to name a few), just wait until you see what games have cooked up to compete for dollars. The Sims Get Medieval with MySims Kingdom

EA has sent The Sims to college, on cruises, out on the town, and now, to a medieval fantasy world. The latest incarnation of the ever-flexible Sims franchise, MySims Kingdom, will dump players into a feudal-styled fantasy town where they must help improve a society. The company formally announced the title for Nintendo Wii and DS on Wednesday.

Like the original MySims title, Kingdom will sport an anime-inspired look, and offer characters and lands to be explored. The storyline follows the crumbling kingdom of King Roland, which the player moves into and must aid in reversing with the help of others, including companions Buddy and Lyndsay. Although EA has released few details, players will be able to do everything from tending pigs to finding treasure chests, offering more flexibility and exploration than the original Sims titles.
