Starting the fourth quarter of 2005, the enhanced ViViX powered by HQV chip – a version specially developed by Silicon Optix for Runco – will be the catalyst to raise the picture quality of the full line of Runco products. ViViX is a propriety technology of Runco, its video decoding and processing capabilities upconvert standard definition sources to virtual high definition for the ultimate in widescreen viewing perfection.
Silicon Optix is pleased to announce that Denon has selected its RealtaÔchip with Hollywood Quality Video (HQVÔ) technology for its flagship DVD Player and will officially launch the DVD-5910 at the 2005 International CES Show, in Las Vegas, January 6-9, 2005.
Winner of the 2005 Best of CES Innovations award, the Realta HQV chip originates from Teranex’s $60,000 broadcast and post-production platforms. Teranex’s software algorithms run on Realta’s fully-programmable, trillion operations per second video processing engine to deliver a new standard in image quality, a standard Silicon Optix is calling ‘Hollywood Quality Video’, or HQV.
“For our flagship DVD player we needed the industry’s flagship video processor. Once we did side-by-side comparisons, we quickly realised that there really was no other solution that could match the incredible picture quality that the Realta HQV chip delivers,” commented Roger Batchelor, Product Manager of Denon UK.

Silicon Graphics and Silicon Optix jointly demonstrated a new Immersive Theater configuration at the Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC) conference this week in San Jose, CA.
