When it comes to doing business, screen space isn’t just a luxury, it can be a productivity tool that helps get things done more easily as well. That’s the logic behind NEC’s latest MultiSync 19- and 24-inch flat-screen displays in its enterprise line, which offer big screens in a package tailored for offices.

Duke Nukem Trilogy Headed to PSP and DS
Although 3D Realms turned the once-venerable Duke Nukem franchise into the laughing stock of the gaming work by perennially promising a game than never arrives, the resurrected brand Apogee took a lighter approach to introducing the newest attempt at a Duke game. The company released a trailer on Wednesday that seems to give gamers a wink at its current state of development.
Over the course of four minutes, aggressive music plays, logos flash, and old Duke Nukem art slides across the screen over and over, but game play is nowhere to be seen. The only real information proffered by the video: the three titles in the trilogy will be Chain Reaction, Proving Grounds, and Critical Mass.
Gateway Adds Color to M- and T-Series
If Garnet Red and Pacific Blue weren’t quite cutting it for you as color selections on Gateway notebooks, the latest news out of the company may just tickle your eye’s fancy. Gateway announced on Thursday that its M-Series and T-Series notebooks are getting a new splash of color, including the delicious-sounding rich Merlot, the flashy luminous Silver, and the somewhat-confusing Arctic Bloom.
The M-Series notebooks, already home to the aforementioned red and blue, will take on Merlot and Silver, while both the M- and T-Series will have the option of Arctic Bloom, which looks a bit like a design you could make using flowers as stencils and about five different cans of bluish spraypaint.
Microsoft Offers Xbox Live Users Free Game
Microsoft’s Xbox Live online service has been causing gamers consternation since the end-of-year holidays: folks have intermittently been unable to log on, purchase games or other content, buy or redeem Microsoft Points—even match-making transactions for Call of Duty 4 have been unreliable. Microsoft says it has been working on the problems, but improvements have been slow in coming—so much so that rumors have begun circulating that Xbox Live has been subjected to some sort of denial-of-service attack.
Kodak Launches M-Series of Budget Cameras
Kodak took the wraps off four new digital cameras in its latest line on Tuesday. The M753, M853, M873 and M883 will target consumers who are after style on a budget with compact sizes, metal cases and a variety of colors.
On the lower end of the line, the M753 and M853 will be able to take pictures in 7- and 8-megapixel resolutions, respectively (as denoted by the first digit in their model numbers). Besides the difference in resolution, both cameras will sport many of the same features, including 3x optical zoom lenses and 2.5-inch LCD screens. Kodak didn’t give exact dimensions for the new models, but called them "pocketable." The M753 will be available in black, silver, purple, copper, pink and blue, while the M853 will come out in white, red, graphite, silver and espresso.

Casio has announced the EX-Z1200, a new top-line model in its Exilim digital camera line offering a 12.1 megapixel resolution, face detection technology, image stabilization, and a high-quality movie mode. The camera supplants last year’s EX-Z1000 model, which marked Casio’s first Exilim to crack the 10 megapixel barrier.

Microsoft Taking Games for Windows Live
Microsoft has formally announced plans to extend its successful Xbox Live game and entertainment service to Windows Vista beginning May 8th. Games for Windows—Live will enable Windows Vista games to interact with (and eventually compete with) with the over six million games already connected to the company’s Xbox Live service. Games for Windows will debut May 8th with a Windows Vista version of Microsoft’s first-person action game Halo 2; in June, Microsoft’s forthcoming Shadowrun game will be the first title to connect Windows Vista players to Xbox 360 gamers in cross-platform matches—although we don’t think that milestone is going to settle the debate between proponents of game controllers and keyboard-only fans. For the non-shoot-em-up crowd, Microsoft also plans to release a version of Uno later in 2007.
