It was just a couple days ago that Apple announced it had sold more than 1 million iPhones, and iPhoneSimFree went on sale as the only software-only unlocking solution for unhitching the iPhone from AT&T’s mobile network so the device could (with some limitations) be used on any GSM mobile network. Now, there may not be any reason to pay money to unlock the iPhone: a free, open source iPhone unlocking solution dubbed iUnlock has appeared on the Internet from the so-called iPhone Dev team, and the developers are busily wrapping a graphic interface around it for the benefit of users unfamiliar with the cryptic ways of command lines.

Bike Powered VoIP
Outfitted with a Linux-based PC meant to be powered either by pedaling or via solar power, the bicycle is a portable VoIP solution. The system is ‘rugged-tized’ for use under harsh conditions, such as African climate, and has no moving parts. The set up is also able to be remotely serviced.
Envisioned as a solution to the lack of communication services in developing communities for international relief organizations, the “VoIPcycle†will be sents to remote African villages with no electricity or phone service. The bike is able to stay connected through a series of transmitters and receivers.
Ericsson Launches Interactive Mobile TV
Viewers are able to interact with mobile TV shows, via voting or greeting (SMS-to-TV or MMS-to-TV), just by pushing a response key. Mobile TV viewers can also access such additional services asshopping via the mobile TV.
“Our solution makes it possible for viewers to interact with a show they are watching on their mobile device in a whole new way, creating a much richer TV experience with the help of the mobile channel,” said Kurt Sillen, Vice President and Head of Ericsson Mobility World. “Apart from simultaneously watching and interacting with TV on a mobile device, the new solution also allows the device to be used as an interactive remote control when sitting in front of TV at home.”
