Video Ads Come To Magazines

Video Ads Come To Magazines

It sounds like something out of the Harry Potter books. Okay, it is something out of the Harry Potter books. But next month will see the first-ever video ads appearing on the pages of a magazine, as some copies of the September 18 issue of Entertainment Weekly in LA and New York will have video-in-print ads, the BBC reports.

The screens are slim line, about the size of a cell phone battery, and will have rechargeable batteries, with the chip activated when the page is turned. Each chip can hold around 40 minutes of video. The first ads will be from Pepsi and CBS.

The Big E3 Rumors

The Big E3 Rumors

Plenty of rumors have been flying around gaming circles for several months, and E3 might well see some of them become reality.

One of the likeliest announcements will be for Forza Motorsport 3, leaks about which have been happening for a year. The biggest questions are about what the game will be like, since a marketing firm leak had it offering a massive 100 tracks and 400 vehicles.

Nintendo is supposedly planning something big for the casual market with E3, and 1Up.com anticipates this will be Wii Fit Plus, which has been trademarked. Since the original has been so successful, a follow-up, offering more and new features would seem to be something of a no-brainer.

It attracted over 450 entrants, ranging from sites showing the nearest public toilet to one illustrating school catchment areas. But the grand winner was a site called Can I Recycle It? which lets people find local recycling facilities, the BBC reports.

Antec Minuet HTPC case review

Quote from the review at Aselabs:

“Like I said before, HTPCs are pretty new, and it is difficult to find something that fits your needs and looks good as well. I have already reviewed a case made for ATX size boards, but how about something smaller and more compact? Enter the Antec Minuet, fitting only uATX and ITX boards. Let’s see how good it is shall we? “
