Samsung Intros New LCD Desktop Monitors

Samsung Electronics has introduced five new LCD monitors in its SyncMaster seres designed to appeal to mainstream computer users—but that have specs that may even appeal to some gamers. The displays feature fast 5ms response times, surprisingly wide 8,000:1 contrast ratios, and price tags that won’t injure most checkbooks.

“By combining an ultra-high contrast ratio with a compact, ergonomic design, the BX and BWX series of monitors is an excellent choice for any commercial user who seeks superior image quality and a flexible viewing experience,” said Samsung America’s senior manager for display products Young Bae, in a statement. “These high-performance monitors are an appealing option for our channel partners looking to offer excellent specifications at a reasonable price.”

Digital Camera Buying Guide

Taking a picture of friendsYou’ve decided to buy a digital camera—or upgrade to a newer, more powerful one. You’re not alone. According to industry experts close to 30 million digital cameras will be bought this year. And these hefty figures don’t include millions of camera phone owners who take zillions of snapshots every day. Although camera phones are fun and everyone loves sending images instantly to friends, if you want decent snapshots (4×6 or larger) a digital camera is the only way to go. And with prices dropping nearly every day, it’s time to take the plunge.

Samsung SyncMaster 192MP LCD Review

Quote from the review at Overclockers Club:

“Though perhaps not a hardcore gamer’s LCD, the SyncMaster 192MP was built for someone else in mind – the casual gamer, the constant computer user, and, I even suppose, the cramped student, or apartment dweller. Personally, my new room next year is going to be incredibly small – and though I have a Cable outler, I will not have room for a TV. Solution: Samsung SyncMaster 192MP. A TV screen for cable and DVDs, and a computer monitor all in one. I love it. I’m even watching Comedy Central while I write this article! If you’re looking for something robust, versatile, (multi)funtional and just incredible well put together, then SyncMaster 192MP is a good choice for you.”

Samsung SyncMaster 172MP review

Quote from the review Monkey Review:

“It was a pleasure to review the SyncMaster 172MP for Samsung. My hat goes off to Samsung for being able to pack all of these features into one product. The SyncMaster 172MP is a little out of my price range when it comes to a TFT monitor but I will honestly say that if I didn’t have a large room I would defiantly take advantage of the solution that Samsung has offered with the SyncMaster 172MP. The SyncMaster 172MP can be used as a combination TV/DVD/HDTV/PC. Although the price of the SyncMaster 172 MP may seem high on first glance the built in features and quality offered with this ‘all in one’ solution makes the price more bearable.

Samsung SyncMaster 172W LCD monitor review

Quote from the review:

“I could essentially write this conclusion in one word: magnificent. Samsung’s SyncMaster 172W has been an absolute treat to review. While it’s street price is a semi-steep $649USD, keep in mind you’re paying for an excellent 17″ LCD monitor. The menu system for the SyncMaster is smart and simple- navigating with it’s front panel buttons is a breeze. Samsung’s MagicBright feature is also a nice addition for having quick access to the brightness of the monitor. I also found the Dual Hinge System to be a nice feature as it was very easy to adjust the tilt and height of the screen. However, I would have liked the main arm to have just a little bit higher raising radius, but that is just me being picky. My girlfriend was impressed by the SyncMaster’s picture when we watched the movie on it and with that I can say- chicks dig the monitor.”
