Averatec Rolls Out 22-Inch, Dual-Core All-in-One

Averatec continues to roll out its line of consumer-friendly all-in-one computers designed to appeal to consumers attracted to the sophisticated looks of Apple’s iMac…but who may not be so keen on the price tag. Lenovo’s IdeaPad U110 Barely Tips Scales

Lenovo

Lenovo rounded out its new IdeaPad family of consumer notebooks on Tuesday with an 11-inch kid sister to join its larger 15.4-inch and 17-inch offerings. The tiny IdeaPad U110 will serve as the most mobile computer in the line, and also the priciest.

Making weight a priority, Lenovo has kept the U110 to less than 2.5 pounds with the standard four-cell battery. To make the most of such a tiny 11-inch form factor, the notebook’s screen sports a frameless design, as well as a viewing angle Lenovo claims is “infinite-like.” The U110’s textured metal lid can be finished in either black or red.

Lenovo Intros IdeaPad Consumer Notebooks

China’s Lenovo might be best known for taking over IBM’s ThinkPad notebook line and ThinkCentre line of desktop computers, and the systems have continued to be popular with government, enterprise, and business users. But there’s no denying that notebook computers have gone mainstream with consumers, and now Lenovo wants a piece of that action. To that end, the company is introducing its new "Idea" brand, and is entreing the consumer PC market with three new IdeaPad notebook computers: the Y510, Y710, and U110.

“Apple Computer has created and launched a nationwide media blitz led by Steven Jobs, overwhelming the computer world with a sea of Tiger references,” Tiger Direct’s attorneys wrote in the lawsuit.”
