In a move that threatens to turn the age of the ubiquitous cell phone camera in to the age of ubiquitous live cell phone video, Qik Inc. has launched an alpha version of its eponymous service Qik, which enables selected Nokia and Sony Ericsson J2ME handsets to stream live video to the Internet with just two clicks. And, what’s more, folks watching the live video stream from the Web can chat with the video-transmitting phone in real time.

B&W Adds New Flat Panel Monitor
According to B&W the FPM family is widely considered to be one of the few high-end solutions available where ultra-low-profile speakers are required, such as to complement flat-panel plasma TVsand monitors. Now, the B&W Series grows with the FPM 2, a compact yet high performance two-way model.
Of course, the FPM Series is not exclusively for plasma-based systems. The FPM 2 is a good choice in multiroom systems where architectural in-wall speakers are not practical or desirable. And ofcourse, the FPM 2 is a surround-channel speaker for plasma or other flat-panel or projection systems, or wherever a sonically excellent, compact, unobtrusive speaker is needed.
B&W to purchase Classe’ Audio
The deal is reportedly delayed over a decision as to where the R&D and executives would be located (Canada, U.K. or the U.S.). The deal would give B&W a more lofty brand of electronics to market above Rotel which will better suit the higher end speakers in B&W’s current line up. B&W now distributes Classe into most worldwide markets.
