Atari Classics Come To Nintendo DS

“Some of gamers’ favorite classics are getting tagged for the 21st century by some of the most talented graffiti artists in the world,” said Wim Stocks, Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Atari. “With its blend of old school addictive gameplay and new school artistry and technology, Retro Atari Classics is the must have game for all Nintendo DS gamers, young and old.”

Retro Atari Classics will feature 10 original Atari games, including Pong, Missile Command, Asteroids, Breakout, Centipede, Tempest, Warlords, Gravitar, Lunar Lander and Sprint. Each title will be playable in its original form as well as in the all new “Tagged” mode, featuring brand new looks from some of today’s most popular graffiti artists, including REAS, Delta and Obey Giant.

AMD And Atari To Deliver 64-Bit Game

“Shadow Ops: Red Mercury,” published by Atari and designed on AMD64 technology, includes specific 64-bit enhancements that enable a richer and more immersive gaming experience. The power of the AMD64platform has opened the door for game developers to truly capture the imagination and creativity of artists and industry visionaries.

Atari And Capcom Join N-Gage

Nokia announced an agreement with industry pioneers Capcom and Atari are to produce a variety of titles for the N-Gage platform. The first N-Gage titles from Capcom are expected to be announcedin the coming weeks.   “Capcom is proud to become a part of the N-Gage title family and we look forward to bringing mobile gamers hours of fun as they play Capcom games while on the move,” saidKenzo Tsujimoto, President and CEO, Capcom Co.,Ltd.   “Working with Capcom will mean fantastic additions to the N-Gage games catalogue,” said Pasi Pölönen, Director of Game Publishing, GamesBusiness Unit, Nokia. “As one of the industry pioneers, we feel that Capcom will bring a wealth of experience in the games industry to create innovative games that will take full advantage of theN-Gage platform.”   The first Atari titles for the N-Gage are expected to be released in 2005 and will include Civilization®, one of the most celebrated strategy games ever created andDRIV3R(TM), the latest installment of Atari’s hugely successful driving adventure franchise.
