Thanks for your comments. You can find CES coverage from the major blog outfits by Googling "ces 2008." There's an avalanche of information out there. My intention was to write about the atmosphere of CES and how it affected my subject matter.

I am very interested in useful audio news. Unfortunately your info-void report on the audio news from 2008 CES does not guide me. As one who has been to many industry conventions, I do not consider it helpful to hear/read you complain about tired feet rather than providing up-to-date industry information & trends. After reading your comments on a "dated" (2/06) report titled "Don't Get Stampeded by the 7.1 Parade" to which I disagree, I am still searching for useful guidance about audio news to parallel video news & the march to HD 2009. Perhaps you may recommend some other sources? Thanks.

I enjoyed your colorful CES summary, written by someone who feels similarly about Las Vegas as I do, I had a sincere appreciation for the overall sentiment. I also agree that while a good bit of healthy business was being conducted in The Venetian, the main body of the show exhibited real signs of a downturn. One thing you did not mention in your summary was the rapid and inevitable collapse of aftermarket car audio as a category (caused by several forces of nature), which resides in the entire North Hall next to the LV Hilton hotel. Maybe the CEA will soon decide to use the North Hall more constructively, better centralizing CES exhibitors and giving editors less overall geography to cover.<br />
