Not sure I agree re: more family-friendly titles on 360 - although support for indies via Xbox Live does help. But yes: The price on this should have been $199 - then it would have been a no-brainer, almost impulse buy. Either way, can't wait to play it. (Albeit Hopefully not wielding the remote as a lightsaber in view of any YouTube contributor.)

I think you are wrong.
1. It is not cheap enough.
2. The parents (me) also want (have) a 360
3. There are more family friendly games coming on the 360
4. I will get one, at the price point that you already stated $199.
5. There is more longevity with HD, it is cheap to get a projector (I have one) than a set top.
6. Microsoft has money to burn, so what if they are losing money. They were not profitable for most of their first decade.
7. The Wii is cute, but not worth $250!!!!REITERATION OF #1

Seconding the Star Wars comment. Also they are dead on with tht casual gamer thing. I have a DS for games that are low end graphics but still fun to play because its about the game play. I will however eventually purchase a used PS2 system so I can play the Path of Neo, and the Revenge of the Sith titles, but generally Gamecube plays my need for Speed titles well and that's all this grown up, with other things to do needs.

I just like the fact that its backwards compatible with the Gamecube and plays older Nintendo and Sega games. It's not about the technology, it's about the games and fun.

Can anyone say Shining Force rocks? :)

The first game released by the Wii that is linked to the Star Wars franchise, and which will use the controller as a lightsabre, will really show the market how Wii is a winner. which Star Wars fan can pass up that opportunity?

"Because, quite frankly, any videogame platform that dares to buck trends like rising prices, overzealous technology ramp-ups and foolish assumptions of hyper-dedication on the part of the consumer is already ahead of the game in my book. "

I love it. I absolutely would have to agree here.
