Purchased a month ago, great natural colors, awesome picture through digital interface. Donot waste your money on more expensive DLP/LCD sets. This TV is thin, dosnot need a stand, and because of its great black levels, it provides better picture with half the price of comparable LCD/DLP sets.

Purchased this set in November as a family Christmas present. Contrary to the previous review about ambient light being an issue, my set faces a large family room window with two sky lights overhead. I had my reservations, but once properly adjusted this set rocks! The picture is awesome and I have had no problems what so ever.

The tech looked at the TV today. TV needs a new motherboard which is under warranty. Will be 5-6 days out. I am letting him repair it. Hopefully everything will work out.

Very clean picture. Lots of inputs. Great sound for TV speakers. Unit will not power on now. Blue LED on front panel just blinks. The tech will look at it in a week. I have owned the unit for two weeks. I like it so I wont return it yet. Waiting to see what the tech needs to fix.

After reading wonderful reviews about Hitachi Ultravisions, I bought, from Sears, a 57S715. The first unit was drop kicked in my house resulting in out of adjustment lenses, the second unit had an intermittent power on issue(won't turn on) requiring an unplug for a resetting of televisions computer. That unit was replaced for another unit with an intermittent power on issue. Additionally, the remote for this television emits a high frequency noise when used lasting for about 20 seconds. When earlier reviewer mentions that this television is the perfect tv to "host tv nights at his house", he isnt kidding. The problem is that you would not be able to host tv afternoons or mornings unless you lived in a cave. Ambient light makes picture very difficult to view. Like most projection TV's, there is a very narrow viewing angle horizontally and vertically. Firmware updates for multi thousand dollar televisions. Hitachi released a product prematurely. I would avoid this product.

I was very pleased with the 57s715 features and the HD picture. Analog picture was blury at times. I am a big Hitachi fan,but my first 57s715 made loud poping noises, so the repair tech set me up with a new set. Then my second set had a bad remote and would not turn on unless unplugged and plugged back up! I also had to get hitachi to send a firmware upgrade so my cable card would work. I told them to come get it and bring me a Sony 57ws655. I've never owned a sony, but it rates well, so what the heck.....

My experience over the past 6 months follows on that of the reviewer....... Yes if you want to pick- pick there are a few issues.. My main one is16:9 zoom... 4:3 is not bad but 16:9 has only one Zoom and its big... so when you are in HD mode and the broadcast is 4:3 you pretty much have to leave the set at normal with side bars.

Purchased the 57S700 a couple of months ago, and I have been very pleased. Am on Big Island of Hawaii, so over the air HDTV not very prevalent, but on those stations here broadcasting in HD, picture is excellent. Recommend component cables for video. Have Onkyo surround system hooked with it and wonderful video on DVD using Panasonic DVD F-87. A very nice TV for the money.

I am extremely pleased with my 57S715 rear projection tv. The colors are sharp and the picture is unbelievably clear with DVDs. This is the perfect tv to host "movie nights" at my house. The tv also features a one button fine tuning control.
