This TV was an excellent repalcement for my two year odl CRT 51″ Toshiba. Colors on the JVC are much more vibrant and the picture quality looks more life like than most of the other models on the Best Buy floor.
I would suggest this model purchased from Best Buy during the week of 15 Jan 07 since Best Buy will give you a $299 valued TV stand free and a DirecTV HD tuner for free. I used the awards zone 12% off and got a better deal than the free DirecTV receiver, so I opted to go this route (maybe DirecTV will give me one for free anyway).
Pros: Beautiful colors, priced lower than most, came with a stand free at Best Buy
Cons: none

I stumbled into this ILA technology of JVC while looking for Samsung’s DLP in BB. Did not want to get a plasma because they are pricey and not as durable. In store experience and research told me ILA is brighter from a wider angle of viewing which was what I was unsure about DLP because we have a large family room and kitchen. It turned out be a great buy for me and my wife actually said it is too bright and I have to turn down the brightness setting. The good service coming from the merchant I purchased helped make my experience a great one. I highly recommend this TV to those who are not looking for a plasma TV but a large projector TV. Buying it from an authorized JVC dealer is a must if you want to buy online.
Pros: Brightness from wide angle of viewing( vs. DLP), very sharp picture (both in analog and digital modes), easy to set up(I was watching it in less than 30 minutes after receipt), great audio/speaker…
Cons: None

Personally, I think this TV is a steal for under $2K. I know everyone has to have a flat panel, but you are seriously paying for the thinness. If you have a cabinet that will house a think TPRV, then by all means get one. You will not be able to tell the difference. This TV looks gorgeous and for the price, I can sleep at night.

This is an awesome TV with an amazing picture. I found it for $1399 online and it’s every bit as good as the Sony SXRD 60″ that my sister has. The Sony uses the same technology (LCoS), but is twice as much money. This set has better color, viewing angles, and dark hues than plasma or LCD. You just have to deal with the fact that you can’t mount it to the wall. No big deal; it’s only 19″ deep.
Pros: True-to-life color. Extremely sharp picture. Good viewing angle. Nice dark shades. Good remote. Built-in speakers sound good. PC interface looks sharp. Split screen feature is awesome. Low price!
Cons: Video source switching is slow with the factory remote. This TV doesn’t allow split-screen using the computer as a source.
Multi-channel (Brady Bunch) feature doesn’t work with encrypted channels
