Recently while shopping we were pretty much set on the Samsung 60" 6500 series. It had come highly rated and we had looked at 3 stores that carried this series and were impressed. As good fortune would have it, at the last store we looked we were also shown the LG Cinema 3D 60". It has a fabulous picture with far more features than the Samsung at the same price. Then it became a no brainer and they loaded it up! 3D is amazing on this tv and will actually make you move out of your chair. The speaker on the tv is very clear and distinguishable.

I am a fairly tech savvy person, but not someone who goes too crazy over the minutia of HD Televisions. You will not hear me trumpeting about the optimized picture settings, black levels or perfectly even back lighting. I do however want the picture to stand out in my fairly bright living room. I do not want the dreaded "Soap Opera Effect". I want my video games and favorite teams to look smooth on the screen. And I want the set to look gorgeous on the wall above my fireplace.

My 55" LG LM6700 does all of these things and more. Every single person who comes over and sees my TV loves it. The picture quality looks great to my eye (though I've read reports that it's not a true 120hz television, which really pisses some techie folks off). The remote is a bit wonky, but you can program a universal to replace it fairly easily. I actually like it because you're only really using it when you're on the App page (which includes some decent content, including 3D videos, youtube and Netflix).

The 3D is amazing considering it's a passive 3D TV. You can literally make any channel or movie 3D if you want. Kids also love it.

I got a great deal online and paid $1500 with the mounting bracket and LG Soundbar included. In hindsight, I would've paid another $500 for the setup. Go check out the TV at Best Buy. If it looks good to you, be a little patient and you'll find it for a few hundred cheaper online as LG seems to be discounting these more often than most 2012 models out there.

Did I mention it looks gorgeous on my wall?

The LG 55LM6700 is a nice television with a good picture (not great) but does everything well. I liked the ease of setup out of the box. The thin bezel and virtually frameless border are definite positives. Problem when hanging the tv on the wall is that the larger speaker area at the bottom blocks the full tilt angle from above a mantle. The wifi setup was seamless. The remote took little time to get used to and is quite unique in a good way. The 3d feature is awesome. The internet function is nice, but does not provide sound when viewing a video on YouTube. The screen has great blacks, almost too black and the backlighting could be better. Speakers are fair, but I'm using a soundbar which is recommended for any thin screen panel tv. Plenty of applications and frills. I give it a 7.8 out of 10.
