A problem for Canadian customers. The tv comes with an IR Blaster, which allows you to controll the cable set top box with the Samsung remote (finally). The remote can be paired to the set top box, however it also asks for the cable provider and region in order for the channel list to show on the screen while changing the channels. The problem is that it only supports US providers. It asks for a zip code. No postal code. Without the correct postal code, the Samsung remote will not change channels. I hope they come out with an update to Canadian customers soon.

I’m glad to see this now. I was just in Best Buy two days ago looking at the ES8000 55″ for purchase. It’s only $2400.00 now and I think it’s the best TV on the market at that price range. Thanks DT for confirming what I already knew but still had some doubt. This WILL be my next TV.
