I bought NDS Lite Yesterday. My Daughter is very happy with it. I have been testing it in multiple aspects.
First impression: it looks cool, cute style and shape, soft in hand, light weight.
Second impression: When I am using with Animal Crossing and Brain Age, very good sound clarity and picture clarity. Display is very nice and no strain to eyes.

Suggestions: They would have added facility to view photo albums by providing memory card slot. Hope, we may get next version with memory card slot to view pictures and video.

the system is amazing, went to Target to buy one and it was all sold out. I had to steal one from a 5 year old when his parent wasn’t looking. Going to hell but It was worth it.

I just bought a DS for each of my two girls (13 & 14). One insisted on the original DS and the other wanted the Lite version. Except for the bland white color, the Lite is superior in every feature. It is lighter; smaller; brighter, adjustable screen; slightly larger stylus (easier to hold); smaller 3rd party case; etc.

Buy or Not to buy, that is the question . . . Not anymore. I strongly recommend getting your hands on a DS Lite. Where do i start, It has a much brighter screen, it is in fact lighter than the original, it looks sweet, and the stylus is much better than the original DS stylus was. I love it and play it so much that when I had to help my friend with something on a old DS I was struggling with the power button and stylus placement. The outer casing of the system is a smooth glossy outer shell. The in side is more of a fine matte textured plastic. its really nice. Then the start and select buttons are more smartly placed than on the Original. I love the gba slot cover. You dont have to use a gba game to cover the slot unlike the old DS, Plus now gba games stick out a little. The system comes with a gba slot cover that matches the color of the system. You dont have to buy it, but if you dont, you’ll be missing out on the much better improvments of the DS Lite.

I’ve never owned any gameboys but do own a psp. Even though the DS doesn’t have the specs to compete with the psp the fun factor is much higher on the DS. The few games I’ve played are outstanding. Nintendo does fun better than anyone. If you can only get one handheld the DS is a no brainer.

I have the polar white DS lite and it is great! I love it how you can actually see if the game is in sleep mode now. The only problem with the polar white ds lite is that it can get dirty a little easy but as long as you keep it on a table or in your pocket or something it is sure to be safe. But atleast the white ds lite doesnt get smudges on it like the darker colored ones!!! So remember, buy the DS LITE!!!!!

I have a white ds lite and love it. My sister had the older style ds and there is a huge difference. She ended up trading in and spending a little more money for a lite. A must buy for portable gaming.

Nintendo is showing the right path to the game industry. Do you remember when they were the kings in the mid eighties with their Famicom (NES)? Do you remember that they were the pioneers for gaming enhancement…? The DS Lite is a great example demonstrating that ideas are still on top against great visuals. Look at the Sony PSP… Visuals from the PS2 and sort of DVD playability… Where do they sit now? Most of the movie makers have abandoned this format and game makers do not feed anymore to this dying support! Why, because the DS Lite is all about gameplay and never before other manufacturers dared to go so far! High processing CPU geeks will not like the DS Lite, but real gamers who want to experience something new and addictive will choose it for the likes of New Super Mario or Mario Kart which is so intense to play against the world best competitors… I do not know what the Big N. is cooking for their next portable system, but I do believe they will surprise us as always. I would also add that the WII is a prime example of what home consoles should be. Cheap, decent graphics and a revolutionary joy pad… This is it and keeps playing instead of watching great graphics with no content… This is all about games only!

I havent really been into gaming that much, but now that I’m traveling a bit more it’s nice to have something there to burn the time while flying. I just got my DS lite and love it. The games are incredible, the graphics are incredible, and the interaction between the game and the player is unrivaled. I would definetely suggest getting one of these for game playing, internet usage, and I’m sure Nintendo will create even more clever applications for this someday.

I am a 28 year old mom of 3 young boys and have a lot of experience in different gaming systems. I probably have had all the systems before PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii came out. I always wanted to buy a handheld game for convince sake but I never really liked the graphics to Gameboy or Gameboy Advance. When GB SP came out my son wanted one for his birthday so I got him one and I enjoyed it somewhat but it still lacked that something. Well I researched the DS and at the time there weren’t any games that really caught my attention until Super Mario came out…so anyway this past Mother’s Day I got a pink one and from the moment I started playing I was hooked. The graphics are superb for a handheld game. The system is small enough to slide in my purse for those long boring doctor visits and etc. I highly recommend this system and now that there are so many new games out it should be a no brainer. There aren’t really cons except that my pink one does get somewhat dirty when my boys play it.

CONS: Fingerprints show up very easily on the system. I have a black DS lite and the top is covered in smudges and fingerprints.

Pros: It has a much better game selection than the PSP and the games are pretty cheap.

In the end, I would recommend the DS lite over the PSP.

I got my son one for Easter – by Christmas the touch screen is shot even though he used only their stylus on it & it is near impossible to contact customer support at Nintendo. Warranty does not cover repair which costs $75! Not very durable.

For what it is… it is a pretty cool machine. Come on now, if your kid breaks the screen because he’s a dumb, don’t blame Nintendo, blame your kid… all and all a fun toy, I just wish you didn’t have to turn it off and on so often though, think they could have come up with a quick reset/boot button.

There are a wide variety of games to play on it that utilize the features of the game system. Get a case for it and screen protectors and you shouldn’t have to worry about breaking your DS.

I am 50 years old and I am having a fantastic time on this BRILL little white DS

I have never put it down since I got it and with all the different games you get its never boring, it’s well worth the money I love it, my brain age was 80 when I first got it, but now I’ve got it down to 50! So pleased.

PROS: Much less expensive than the PSP. As of 2/23/2008 it comes in seven colors including two limited editions that you cannot find anymore. Smaller than the PSP. Clamshell design that protects screens when not in use. Looks very good.

CONS: Scratch/smudge prone. Game Cards are easy to lose because they are so small. Very hard to find a DS Lite at a store, especially a big box store, because they sell out so fast. If you are looking for one, call the store before you go to it, or go to a gaming store like GameStop or EB Games where they are more likely to have it in stock. (I got mine at GameStop where there were four in stock, when the Target across the street had none.)

Ok so I love the Nintendo DS Lite, it’s great for long trips or long waits during appointments. The games are small and perfect. The customer service is awesome, real the best people to work with. I would be so bored without it.

The lite could have been perfect, but i noticed alot of the nintendo games are for children, not a big variety of games for adults. Thats why i enjoyed the psp more, has alot of games for all different ages. But other than the games, the DS lite is a really great system.

I bought this for my 4 year old because I needed something to keep him occupied in the car, doctor office, ect.. Well it was a instant hit with him. Mario was easy for him to play and definitely does the trick. Now I have to get one for myself because he won’t share! I highly recommend it.

I’ve had my ds light for 3-4 years now and I couldn’t be happier with my ds. I’ve read that some of the ds hinges brake but I handle mine a little ruff and not much issues with it just finger prints and some scratches that can be cover with screen proteters and a skin for the ds.
