While most Airbnb listings describe, as you’d expect, run-of-the-mill rooms or apartments with conventional interiors, some rather offbeat entries can also show up from time to time – the Paris Catacombs, van Gogh’s bedroom, and an underwater “aquarium bedroom” to name but a few.

The latest addition to the accommodation site’s wacky-listings club comes in the form of an airline seat from German national carrier Lufthansa.

“Our cabin isn’t in the woods, but in the sky!” the jokey blurb proclaims, adding that it includes a “personal food and beverage service at 910 kmh.”

The “shared room” listing, which is essentially a marketing stunt by the airline to promote its Premium Economy cabin, also speaks of four available bathrooms for the occupant, as well as air conditioning, wireless internet, and multimedia entertainment.

However, being a passenger plane an’ all, the carrier points out that the accommodation isn’t suitable for pets. The “house rules” also include “no parties,” though a few tasty German beers will surely be part of the deal.

Specifically, the listing is for return flights from Frankfurt to New York – unfortunately not the other way around – with seats costing €699 (about $780). The offer starts on August 25 and runs till December, but with availability at this discounted price certain to be strictly limited, interested travelers will need to jump on the deal pretty sharpish.

A minimum four-day stay is also required, though presumably that means in New York City, not in your airline seat. So yes, anyone that books the “accommodation” with Lufthansa will then have to find further accommodation once they reach the Big Apple, with or without Airbnb’s help.

If you can't find a subreddit with your particular interest, Reddit makes it easy to create your own Reddit community.

Running a successful Reddit community isn't easy – but the process of starting one only takes a few minutes. Keep in mind that you'll want to keep a close eye on your subreddit to prevent it from being shut down or turning into a wasteland with no users, but running a subreddit can be a lot of fun when done properly. If you prefer, you can also create a private community that only your friends can join, giving you a place to hang out beyond Twitter and TikTok.
