Skype offers a month of free and unlimited worldwide calling

skype loginSkype has recently launched an offer allowing users to make free calls to landlines in 41 countries and mobiles in 7 countries (including the US and Canada) for a whole month.

Anyone (besides those located in China, South Korea and Taiwan) can take advantage of the offer, though the sooner you sign up the better as it’s only running “while supplies last”, according to its dedicated webpage. It involves joining its Premium service – usual price $8.99 a month – which for the purposes of the offer combines with its Unlimited World subscription, usual price $13.99 a month.

Beware though, you have to hand over your payment details for this, and if you fail to cancel before the month’s up, Skype will start charging for the service on a monthly basis until you cancel, albeit at a reduced rate.

Of course, that’s all fine and dandy if the free month works out so well you want to keep going with it, but not so fine and dandy if you were hoping for a handy freebie and nothing else. So just remember to cancel the deal within 27 days of signing up if you don’t want to pay anything.

Skype Premium gives users group video calling, group screen sharing and live chat customer support as well as free calls to landlines in a country of your choice – and possibly mobiles depending on the country. Unlimited World offers free calls to 41 countries worldwide.

Skype launched in 2003 and currently has over 600 million registered users. The company was bought by Microsoft last year for $8.5 billion.

Laptop Working from Home

Few social media sites are as popular as Reddit. Regardless of what you're interested in, there's probably a thriving community for you to interact with on the platform. Known as subreddits, these communities are home to topics like gaming, world news, science, movies, and more. If you can't find a subreddit with your particular interest, Reddit makes it easy to create your own Reddit community.

Running a successful Reddit community isn't easy – but the process of starting one only takes a few minutes. Keep in mind that you'll want to keep a close eye on your subreddit to prevent it from being shut down or turning into a wasteland with no users, but running a subreddit can be a lot of fun when done properly. If you prefer, you can also create a private community that only your friends can join, giving you a place to hang out beyond Twitter and TikTok.
