A pair of new ‘Blair Witch’ teasers bring the creepy back

Blair Witch (2016 Movie) Official TV Spot – “The Legend Returns”
One of the big surprises to come out of this year’s Comic-Con International in San Diego was the announcement that a mysterious horror movie developed under the working title “The Woods” was actually a sequel to the 1999 genre-defining hit The Blair Witch Project, with the official title (appropriately enough) Blair Witch.

The first trailer for the film was revealed during Comic-Con to an audience that had no idea about its relationship to the 1999 classic, but was suitably shocked once they found out. Well, the secret is out now, and so are a pair of fresh teasers for the film that only heighten the excitement around it.

Lionsgate released a new 30-second television spot for Blair Witch along with a 50-second teaser for the Blair Witch 360 Web VR Experience — which will likely be some sort of 3D, virtual-reality activity that will add an entirely new level of terror to the Blair Witch experience. (As if it didn’t look scary enough.)

BLAIR WITCH 360 Web VR Experience - Intro

Directed by You’re Next and The Guest filmmaker Adam Wingard from a script by Simon Barrett (his frequent collaborator who wrote the two aforementioned films), Blair Witch follows a group of college students who return to the notorious Black Hills Forest in Maryland in order to investigate the disappearance of one student’s sister. With a variety of high-tech tools to aid in their search and a pair of local guides assisting them, the group believes they’ll be able to get to the bottom of the events chronicled in the 1999 film. As one might expect, however, things don’t go exactly as planned for the intrepid students.

The film’s cast includes James Allen McCune (Shameless), Callie Hernandez (From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series), Brandon Scott (The Last of Us), Valorie Curry (The Following), Corbin Reid (Words With Girls), and Wes Robinson (Calvin and Freddie’s Cosmic Encounters).

Blair Witch hits theaters September 16.

How to watch the WWE Backlash France 2024 live stream
Logo for WWE Backlash France.

A WWE Premium Live Event (PLE) is heading to Lyon Metropolis for the first time for WWE Backlash France 2024. Since the formation of TKO in September 2023, WWE has prioritized global expansion. In 2024, Backlash France is the second PLE to be held outside the U.S., and it won't be the last. Five of the next six WWE PLEs will take place outside the U.S.

Heading into Backlash, WWE is entering the "American Nightmare Era." After finishing his story at WrestleMania 40, Cody Rhodes is now the Undisputed WWE Champion. A different era means a new crop of challengers for Rhodes. First up is AJ Styles, a former two-time WWE champion. Rhodes must bring his A-game if he wants to walk out of France as champion.

If you have to watch one Star Wars movie this May the 4th, stream this one
Luke looking off into the binary sunset before dying in The Last Jedi.

Every Star Wars fan has a favorite movie, and many Star Wars fans also hate at least one of the entries in one of their favorite franchises. That can make the exercise of choosing the perfect Star Wars movie to watch on May the 4th difficult. For all of the love this fan base has shown to the franchise over the years, it's also a fan base that has strong opinions about why one movie or another is worthy of your time.

This May 4, though, I'd recommend watching Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Almost undoubtedly the most controversial entry in the saga, one that makes some people furious and others jump for joy, The Last Jedi is worthy of your attention, whether you like what it's doing or not. Here are three reasons you should check it out:
