What do 50 Cent, Keke Palmer, Robin Thicke, Bella Thorne, DJ Khaled, and October London have in common? They will all gather ’round the table as the first guests to be featured on the upcoming VH1 series Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party, reports Variety.

The show was confirmed last month, and was originally given the working title “Martha & Snoop’s Dinner Party.” The addition of the word “potluck” could mean a world of difference. A potluck dinner, as you likely know, requires that all of the guests bring along a dish to contribute to the menu.  Variety notes that the guests will “join Martha and Snoop to create drinks, dishes, and a good time.” So it appears that perhaps Martha (and possibly Snoop, too) will aid each guest in devising their contribution to the meal.

Popular rapper 50 Cent is also an actor, executive producer and entrepreneur, who’s known in the tech world for starting headphones company SMS Audio. Thicke is an R&B singer who had 2013’s smash summer’s hit Blurred Lines with T.I. and Pharrell, and London is a singer who can be heard on Snoop’s single Top Down. DJ Khaled is a producer and recording artist, best known for his song All I Do is Win and for his hilarious, sometimes puzzling, series of Snapchats about his “major keys” to life. Palmer, meanwhile, currently stars in Scream Queens on Fox, and Thorne is tapped to star in upcoming Freeform series Famous in Love.

Snoop Dogg and Stewart may seem like an odd pairing, but they have a long history of appearing on screen together, including several cooking segments on Stewart’s shows that date back to 2008. They also appeared together for the Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber, and, most recently, as teammates for ABC game show The 100,000 Pyramid.

Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party is currently in production, and is set to premiere in the fall.

Netflix has generally weathered the aftermath of the 2023 Hollywood strikes better than its streaming rivals. However, Netflix's lineup in May looks significantly weaker than in the recent past. There's a distinct lack of blockbuster movies from other studios. Even Netflix's original series are slowing down this month. The most significant arrival is Bridgerton season 3, and Netflix is splitting that season into two parts, making fans wait until June to get some closure.

There are other highlights, including Jerry Seinfeld's Unfrosted, Blood of Zeus, and the complete run of the animated spy comedy Archer. But compared to the shows and movies that Netflix had earlier in 2024, it's really lackluster.
