Sling TV is offering an 18-hour preview of its service, no credit card needed

Two major television events are coming up on Monday, the first debate between presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump and the NFL game between the New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons. Sling TV aims to give users a chance to watch either event — or both — and draw more viewers to its service with an 18-hour free preview on Monday.

“Sling TV is synonymous with live television, and whether America craves pigskins or politics, these two events on Monday night represent the pinnacle of must-see-live TV,” Sling TV CEO Roger Lynch said in a statement. “This preview is 100 percent free and gives all Americans the opportunity to watch the first Presidential debate and more; I can’t think of a better night to welcome new Sling TV viewers to experience our service.”

If you are a new or potential Sling TV customer, you can sign up for the service by heading to a special landing page the streaming service has set up for the event. Not only will viewers have the option of watching the aforementioned events, but any of the channels included in the company’s single-stream Sling Orange package. While you will have to sign up for an account in order to take advantage of the offer, you will not need to enter any billing information, so there is no risk of accidentally being charged.

Sling Orange is the company’s core service and was the only programming package it ordered when it launched in 2014. The package costs $20 per month and features more than 25 channels including ESPN, CNN, AMC, Comedy Central, and Bloomberg Television. The company also offers Sling Blue, which costs $25 per month, or can be paired with Sling Orange for a total of $40 per month. The Blue package adds multi-stream support, allowing users to watch on more than once device at a time, as well as many more channels, including the recently added NFL Network.

If you feel like you need a little more time after the 18-hour preview, Sling TV also offers a seven-day trial. This option does require you to enter billing information, so you will have to be careful to cancel before time runs out in the case that you do not want your subscription activated.

The free preview kicks off at 8 a.m. ET on Monday and will end at 2 a.m. ET on Tuesday. To sign up for the free preview, head to the Sling TV website.
