Similar to how Withings views its Steel HR, Timex does not classify the IQ+ Move as a smartwatch. Instead, the IQ+ Move is best described as a smart analog watch, a traditional-looking watch that packs some smarts, such as being able to track your steps, sleep metrics, distance walked or run, and the number of calories burned. Interestingly, the watch does all of this while sticking to a standard watch battery, so there is no need to charge.
Because the IQ+ Move is not a smartwatch, you will not receive notifications for calls and messages. Even so, the sub-dial lets you keep an eye on some data while on the go. Furthermore, you can see the watch while in a poorly-lit environment with Timex’s Indiglo, which is fancy terminology for backlight functionality.
Other odds and ends include the fact that the IQ+ Move is water-resistant up to 50 meters, though it should be noted that the leather band is not waterproof. You can swap out bands if you would like, with Timex offering a silicone band. Furthermore, the watch is broken up into two versions: a woman’s model, which comes in a 37mm case with 18mm bands, and a men’s model, which increases the size to 41mm and 20mm bands. Even more specifically, the men’s model is split into two versions: a traditional-looking analog watch and a sportier version.
Regardless of which version you want to pick up, the IQ+ Move is currently available through Timex’s website and Best Buy for $150.
