After January 9 AT&T DirecTV Now’s 100 streaming channels for $35 deal is over

Thinking about dumping cable or satellite TV service? Cord-cutters or experimenters can “Go Big” and take advantage of AT&T’s DirecTV Now streaming service at a reduced rate. The recently boosted introductory deal offers 100 streaming channels for $35 a month. The special offer ends January 9, 2017.

The DirecTV Now monthly Live a Little plan costs $35 and includes 60 channels, while the 100-channel Go Big plan normally costs $60 a month. Right now, however, you can sign up for the 100-channel package for $35 a month. You get seven days to try out DirecTV Now streaming to two devices simultaneously. If you don’t cancel during the trial week, you’ll be billed $35 for the first month and each month after that.

There’s no guarantee how long the rate will stay at $35. AT&T reserves the right to change the rate, the number of channels, the specific channels available, and pretty much anything else about the service whenever it wants. You can expect rates will go up in the future, although you may be able to keep the same rate but access fewer channels.

Factors affecting rate increases include content charges DirecTV itself has to pay and the ever-present desire to please the stock market. However, as competition for customers making the shift from traditional cable and satellite TV connections continues, the “locked-in” rate is likely to stick for a while

There is no contract with DirecTV Now, so if you don’t like the service as it is or if it changes, you can stop at any time. Potential subscriber loss is another factor likely to influence price stability.

There are a couple of other things to consider before jumping on the $35 GoBig deal. First, you can add HBO or Cinemax or both to your plan for $5 a month each (after 7 free days). Also, if you prepay the first month when you sign up, you can get a free Amazon Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote (normally $40). If you prepay three months on signup, AT&T will send you a free 4th-Generation 32GB Apple TV (regular price $150). Either of those devices will enable you to stream to a regular flatscreen TV, but if you don’t need another device for TV streaming, you can give it a pass.

As pointed out in our DirecTV Now hands-on review, the overall experience on televisions and mobile devices is smooth, but you can’t (yet) voice search for content with Alexa on the Amazon Fire TV Stick or with Siri on the Apple TV. Also, accessing episode information can be awkward if not impossible, depending on the viewing device.

Don’t miss these (rare) deals on the Apple TV HD and Apple TV 4K
vevo apple tv redesign music videos news 2

Since we're stuck indoors due to you-know-what, now's your chance to catch up on the latest shows and movies. If you are a bonafide Apple fan there's no better streaming device to get than an Apple TV streaming box. There are two devices to choose from: Apple TV HD and Apple TV 4K. They're both on sale right now, with the former going for as low as $144 (down from $149) at B&H Photo Video and the Apple TV 4K for as little as $169 (instead of $179).

So, which one should you choose? Well, if you've got a 4K TV already or are planning to buy one in the future, it's best to go for the Apple TV 4K. While they both have the same super-easy-to-use tvOS operating system, the Apple TV 4K has the upper hand in terms of features -- extending further than the fact it can stream in 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160), up from the Full HD (1920 x 1080) that the run-of-the-mill Apple TV HD maxes out at.

Fitness deals: treadmills, ellipticals, weights on sale
nordictrack x32i treadmill review press lifestyle

Going on a fitness journey can be very tough, especially if you don't have a lot of motivation, which is why having home fitness equipment is important, especially if you don't want to drag yourself to a gym regularly. While that sort of equipment tends to be expensive, there are luckily quite a few home gym deals that you can take advantage of, whether it's things like dumbells or water bottles, which is why we've gone out and found our favorite deals and listed them below. You can also check out some other great brand-specific deals, such as these NordicTrack deals and Bowflex deals.
Adjustable Dumbbell 55-pound 5-In-1 Single — $156, was $190

One of the worst things about dumbbell training is having too many dumbbells. They can take over your whole gym. This deal (on a SINGLE dumbbell, so buy two!) can take the place of five dumbbells in your complete gym kit. Instead of one 55-pound dumbbell, you're getting an 11-pound dumbbell, a 22-pound dumbbell, and so on up until the 55 pounder. This is advantageous if you're just starting out with working out and don't know what weight you need to start with or if you want to do different exercises with different weights. Finally, note that the design of the adjustable dumbbell is quite safe as you can only adjust the weights (via a simple handle turning mechanism) while they are laid carefully on tray. Once they're off, the weight is "locked in" so to speak until you return them to the try. No lost toenails here!
