The highly anticipated Blade Runner 2049 has just hit theaters to near-universal critical acclaim. If you haven’t seen Ridley Scott’s 1982 original that started it all, however (or if you haven’t yet seen it in high-definition), then this cult classic deserves a spot in your collection. Director Alex Garland’s Ex Machina was released to little fanfare but quickly became a sleeper hit with sci-fi fans and movie critics alike. The conclusion to the rebooted Planet of the Apes series, War For the Planet of the Apes, is the final chapter in the story of Caesar (Andy Serkis) as he tries to lead his band of primates to a new homeland. The story, pitting the Colonel (Woody Harrelson) and his rogue military group against Caesar’s apes, is just as engaging as the stunning cinematography and marks a fitting end to this epic trilogy.
