Red Dead Redemption 2 Launch Trailer

Red Dead Redemption 2 is less than a week away, but you might not have a current-generation system to play it on. Fear not, however, because Walmart and GameStop have a deal that will help you score an Xbox One at a deep discount.

Walmart’s deals

If you want to pick up a console at Walmart, the retailer has some crazy good deals going on. Right now, you can purchase a copy of the game with an Xbox One X, a bonus controller, and a bonus currency card for $459. Two of the console options included also feature their own games — either NBA 2K19 or PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds — making it an even better value.

For those without a 4K television, a separate bundle that includes an Xbox One S, the game, a controller, and a currency card is available for $259. All four of the console packages include one game, which can be PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, Minecraft, Forza Horizon 4, or NBA 2K19.

GameStop’s deal

From October 26 — the game’s launch date — through November 3, anyone who purchases a copy of Red Dead Redemption 2 at GameStop will receive $100 off on an Xbox One X or an Xbox One S. The Xbox One S only sells for $300 as is, so you’ll essentially be able to get your system and your first game for $260.

We were able to confirm the deal with a GameStop retail store, as well, so you should have no problem getting the discount in person, should you choose to do so.

If you’re in the market for a PlayStation 4 Pro, instead, GameStop has another deal for you. You can get the system for $400 with the game included — you’re essentially getting the game for free this way.

Red Dead Redemption 2: Official Gameplay Video Part 2

Can’t miss it

Red Dead Redemption 2 is Rockstar’s most ambitious game yet, with unprecedented freedom, expanded combat and side activities, plenty of story-driven missions, and remarkable visuals. Protagonist Arthur Morgan’s beard grows in real time, his abilities will change based on the weather and what he’s wearing, and if you don’t want to look at him anymore, you can switch to first-person mode and play the entire game like it’s a shooter.

It will initially ship with just the single-player content included, with Red Dead Online beginning its beta period in November. Grand Theft Auto V took a similar approach with its online mode, and that worked out pretty well for Rockstar. The game has gone on to become the most profitable entertainment product in history, with more than $6 billion in revenue and more than 90 million copies sold. It also regularly hits the top 10 sales charts each month, despite being more than five years old.

Red Dead Redemption 2 releases for Xbox One, PS4, and PC on October 26, but GameStop stores are holding launch parties at 9 p.m. across the country. This is in your local time, so you will be able to play cowboy for a few hours before bed.

One of Steam's biggest success stories of 2026 has suddenly found itself at the center of a security scare. A security researcher has discovered that a community-made Meccha Chameleon Workshop map contained code designed to write files outside the game and launch a hidden PowerShell process that attempted to download an additional payload from an external server.

If you've been curious about Xbox Cloud Gaming but didn't want another monthly subscription, Microsoft may have a new option for you. The company is testing a free, ad-supported version of Xbox Cloud Gaming for Xbox Insiders, allowing eligible players to stream select games they already own without a Game Pass membership.

However, you'll have to watch a short advertisement before your session begins. Microsoft says the ads will never interrupt gameplay, making this an early test of whether a simple tradeoff can bring cloud gaming to more players.

Lenovo’s latest LOQ is more comfortable running newer AAA games
Lenovo's LOQ 17 gets a new RTX 5070 12GB graphics option
LOQ 17 gaming laptop

Lenovo has expanded its LOQ gaming laptop lineup with a new graphics option. The company has introduced a refreshed version of the LOQ 17IRX10, pairing Intel's Core i7-14700HX processor with Nvidia's newly announced GeForce RTX 5070 12GB laptop GPU. The update gives buyers another configuration to choose from without changing the overall design or feature set of the laptop.

The new variant joins Lenovo's existing LOQ 17IRX10 lineup, which was previously available with GeForce RTX 5050, RTX 5060, and RTX 5070 8GB graphics options. While the chassis remains unchanged, the addition of a 12GB RTX 5070 brings more VRAM to the series, a specification that has become increasingly important as modern AAA games demand larger texture caches and higher memory capacity.
