It may be the most expensive device in the A-series — although flagships like the Samsung Galaxy S21 still cost a lot more — but the Samsung A71 5G packs a lot of punch for the price. With its 6.7-inch AMOLED full HD+ screen and 4,500mAh battery, you’ll want to keep this $600 smartphone safe, if you’re lucky enough to get your hands on one. A sturdy case is a must — but should you opt for a clear TPU case or a sleek leather wallet cover? We’ve hand-picked a selection of some of the best Samsung Galaxy A71 5G cases around to help you decide.

Note: These cases are designed to fit the Samsung Galaxy A71 5G model, and are not compatible with the Samsung Galaxy A71 4G.

Poetic Guardian Case

Want to keep your A71 5G safe while showing it off at the same time? Poetic’s Guardian case ticks both boxes, with a scratch-resistant clear polycarbonate back that showcases your phone and raised bumpers with impact-resistant TPU lining. With this case you’re getting rugged, military-grade drop protection — a raised bezel provides extra protection for your screen should you drop your phone, while the textured bumpers add grip and prevent your phone sliding through your fingers. Poetic has included an extra front frame too, which you can use with your own tempered glass screen protector for 360-degree protection. The Guardian case comes in black, black and blue, black and green, or silver and pink, all with a clear back to show off your A71 5G.

Kwmobile TPU Case

We love the deep berry-colored version of Kwmobile’s TPU case — although you can also pick it up in black, lilac, or yellow — but it’s more than just a good-looking case. The super slim design slips neatly into your pocket, while the TPU construction absorbs shock, keeping your phone safe from drops, bumps, and scratches. It’s soft and flexible and feels smooth in your hand — and as an added bonus the material adds grip, too, making it less likely you’ll drop your phone in the first place. Unlike some other flexible covers, this one fits the A71 5G perfectly and won’t stretch or become loose over time. For under $10 it’s a great buy.

The official Samsung S View case costs more than some of the others on our list, but it’s worth every penny if you’re looking for top-notch protection for your phone. Right now, you can pick it up in white from Samsung. The best bit about this case? All-round protection for your phone and easy access to its functions without opening the cover — so no more flipping your case open and closed constantly. Thanks to the clear-view front cover, you can see the time and date as well as view and manage incoming calls and messages.

The suede-like Kowauri PU leather wallet case is a nice change from the typical leather cases. This soft-feeling case comes in six different colors, so it will suit any style. We love the beautiful petrol blue in the picture, but you can get one of these cases in pink, coffee, black, red wine, or brown. There’s more than just looks on offer here though, with all-round protection for your phone. Its tough interior shell keeps your phone snugly in place with a magnetic clasp to prevent the phone from getting scratched in your bag or pocket. This case comes with an ID or cash pocket and two slots for cards, so you can leave your wallet at home. It also folds into an adjustable stand for a hands-free Netflix session or Zoom call.

It’s available in six vibrant designs, such as the rose-pink case pictured.

All leather wallet cases are a little different, and this CoverOn case is one of the best we’ve seen. For one thing, it’s made of ethical vegan faux leather and comes in three colors and two patterns. This stunning case comes with six slots for cards, a transparent ID window, and a vast cash pocket. But more than that, it’s lined with an RFID-blocking substance to protect you from card theft. Its shock-resistant TPU interior keeps your phone safe from bumps and drops, and a magnetic clasp keeps everything inside protected. Once you open it, it folds into a convenient stand for no-hands activities like reading, gaming, and watching movies.

I went hands-on with Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. It’s peak foldable in an old garb.
It may not look like a fresh start, but underneath the familiar chassis, there's plenty of thoughtful engineering tweaks.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra

Samsung just wrapped up its glitzy Unpacked event, revealing three new foldable phones and a pair of smartwatches. While my heart flutters for the pocketable Galaxy Z Fold 8, it’s the Ultra variant that truly feels like a refinement. Interestingly, when you look at the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra for the first time, you might mistake it for the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Both of them look identical, and Samsung has not made any visible changes on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra for it to stand out from its predecessor. Color options, obviously, are fresh this time around, but there are a few changes that have been made under the hood, and they make this phone feel like a practically rewarding iteration.

Fold 8 Ultra vs. Fold 7: Upgrades across the board, but is the Ultra really worth the upgrade?
From battery capacity to camera hardware, here's a full comparison between the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 7, and whether upgrading actually makes sense.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra vs. Fold 7

Foldables age differently than regular smartphones or flagships. But why do I say this? It's the hinge and the foldable aspect that wins buyers over in the first place, not the specifications that get outdated every single year. That's precisely why anyone still carrying last year's Galaxy Z Fold 7 is asking a fair question today: does Samsung's freshly unveiled Z Fold 8 Ultra genuinely earn an upgrade, or does the Fold 7 still hold its ground?

And for shoppers who skipped last year's model entirely and are weighing their first foldable purchase, the calculus is totally different. A now-discounted Fold 7 might undercut the Ultra by a considerable sum, and that could matter to those looking to spend on the form factor, not the latest specifications.

Samsung makes it easier to run multiple apps on Galaxy Z Flip 8’s cover screen
Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 8 now runs 16 apps on its cover screen.
Galaxy Z Flip 8 cover display

Samsung is finally making the Galaxy Z Flip's cover screen much more useful. With the new Galaxy Z Flip 8, you no longer have to rely on workarounds to access more apps without unfolding the phone. Instead, Samsung has expanded native support on the FlexWindow, allowing 16 apps to run directly on the outer display and also making it much easier to launch virtually any other app.

The update addresses one of the biggest complaints Flip users have had for years and brings Samsung up to the level of rivals like Motorola, whose Razr series has long offered a more flexible cover screen experience.
