March is finally here, which brings the promise of spring, rebirth, and warmer weather. It also means Disney+, will debut a whole new slate of movies, TV shows, and specials designed to make you stay in and ignore the beautiful weather. How dare they!

The nefarious House of Mouse is giving fans what they want: mutant heroes and Taylor Swift. That’s right, the beloved ’90s animated show X-Men: The Animated Series makes its’ long-awaited return with X-Men ’97. Ms. Swift also joins the party with her hit concert film Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version).

The first Saturday in May belongs to horse racing. All eyes will be on Churchill Downs for the 2024 Kentucky Derby. This year's edition is the 150th Running of the Kentucky Derby. "The Run for the Roses" is the first leg of the Triple Crown, and will be followed by the Preakness Stakes and Belmont Stakes.

Fierceness opened as the morning line favorite at 5-2. On the back of Fierceness will be jockey John R. Velazquez, a three-time Kentucky Derby winner. Fierceness is trained by Todd Pletcher, who won the Kentucky Derby in 2010 and 2017. Fierceness is looking to become the first horse starting from Post 17 to win.

Available to stream through Amazon Freevee, Boat Story gives Quentin Tarantino vibes on the small screen thanks to its genre-bending style and violent storyline. In the show, two strangers discover cocaine on a boat. But rather than turn it into the authorities, the pair, both down on their luck with nothing to lose, decide to sell it and split the funds. But a large cocaine shipment never goes missing without someone nefarious hot on its tail, as Janet (Daisy Haggard) and Samuel (Paterson Joseph) quickly realize.
Running from the police, dodging hitmen and gangsters, and desperate to get out of the harrowing situation, the unlikely duo meet gruesome, graphic, savage violence along the way. Boat Story beautifully weaves humor with the dark plot and heavy brutality, with fast-paced action through the short six-episode series.

What’s new on Peacock in May 2024
The cast of The American Society of Magical Negroes.

Peacock is still a revolving door for movies, but it's got a great film lineup in May. The satire The American Society of Magical Negroes is arriving on May 3, shortly after fan-favorites like Jurassic Park, Wonder Woman, Life of Pi, The Hurt Locker, Get Out, Mad Max, and more settle in for at least 31 days on Peacock.

Among original series this month, the World War II drama The Tattooist of Auschwitz, arrives on May 2, while the British sitcom We Are Lady Parts gets its season 2 premiere on May 30. In the meantime, the current seasons of NBC's Law & Order shows are coming to an end, while the first five seasons of Perry Mason are arriving on Peacock as well.
