More than 40 years after the movie first hit theaters, Prince’s Purple Rain is coming back. Fans will be able to catch the rock musical drama for one night only exclusively to Dolby Cinema at AMC Theaters locations in the US and Dolby Cinema at ODEON locations in the UK for one night only on March 5.

The movie, which was Prince’s acting debut, follows Prince as The Kid, a musician on the rise in Minneapolis who is trying to escape from squalor at home through music. When he comes head to head with a rival musician who wants to steal both his stardom and his girl, The Kid has to prove that he’s got what it takes. In addition to starring in the film, Prince also composed all of the music, creating a legendary album to accompany the film.

Purple Rain was reimagined for this new Dolby experience. Dolby scanned an 8K resolution 35mm print of the film and digitally restored it, including specific color-grading to fit the Dolby format. The audio was also remastered, ensuring that the film will be in as pristine quality as possible for this new theatrical release. Purple Rain‘s return to theaters comes almost a decade after Prince’s death, and 41 years after it was first released in 1984. You can buy tickets for the film here.

Scary Movie 6 returned after more than a decade, and the gamble paid off at the box office. The sixth installment debuted to $55 million domestically, the best opening weekend in the series' history, and went on to gross over $215 million worldwide as of late June.

Ahead of the movie's June 5 theatrical release, Wayans Bros. Entertainment launched a website called Subservient Ghostface, where you type a command and watch the masked killer carry it out on screen. It's a clever campaign that borrows directly from Burger King's famous Subservient Chicken stunt from 2004, swapping the chicken suit for the horror icon Ghostface from Scream.

Comcast's breakup sounds like an alarm bell for Peacock, Xfinity, and the monthly internet bill. At the service level, the answer is calmer. Current customers shouldn't expect subscriptions, billing, or broadband plans to change while the company works through the split.
