This cool bezel-less, octa-core smartphone may be one of the first to run Android 6.0

Elephone isn’t a name that will be familiar to many, unless you live in China, where the majority of its hardware is sold. However, it has long been a manufacturer that has come up with exciting devices, and it has started teasing one of its most interesting yet. It’s called the P9000, and although there’s no official release date attached to the phone, the specs and design make it worthy of attention.

This is an official tease, rather than a speculative rumor or leak, so what follows is almost certainly what the phone will end up being. First, Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be the operating system, and it’ll be displayed on a 5.5-inch, 1080p screen. The pictures shared by the company show a bezel-less design, and a surprising lack of buttons on the side panels.

Could this mean the P9000 will have a touch sensitive side panel, just like the cool Nubia Z9 we saw recently? The sides aren’t completely featureless, with a fingerprint sensor mounted below the power button on the right, just like the latest Sony Xperia Z5 family. On the bottom of the phone is a USB Type-C connector, which is rapidly taking over as the standard for modern phones from China.

On to the specs. Elephone has apparently chosen the new and so-far unreleased MediaTek Helio P10 processor for the P9000, an octa-core chip that increases battery life and has a super-fast global Cat-6 LTE chip. A massive 4GB of RAM should ensure it’s fast. On the rear is a 21-megapixel camera, and on the front is an 8-megapixel selfie camera.

Take a look at the pictures and see what you think. Elephone devices can be purchased internationally through various import sites, so it’ll be possible to pick one up if you’re tempted. Elephone has another interesting device lined up for the end of the month. The Vowney, according to its site, has a 1440p screen, 4GB of RAM, Sony’s 21-megapixel camera, and super fast auto-focus.

We’ll keep you updated on both.

How to turn off call forwarding on iPhone and Android
A person holding the Apple iPhone 15 Plus, showing the camera.

If you’re mysteriously missing calls on your iPhone or Android smartphone, it may be because call forwarding is activated on your line. In that case, all your incoming calls could be going somewhere else.

Call forwarding shouldn’t typically be active unless you’ve specifically turned it on, but another person or app may have done so without your knowledge. And since call forwarding is a carrier feature, it could still be enabled on a line you inherited from someone else, even if you’ve swapped their SIM card into your phone or transferred it to a new account.
