Looking to expand your gaming rig with some new peripherals? Maybe Corsair has what you’re looking for. That’s because today, the company launched three new products: the Strafe RGB Silent keyboard, the Katar gaming mouse, and the accompanying MM300 gaming mouse pad (to provide some added traction).

The new Strafe RGB Silent claims to be the world’s first mechanical keyboard featuring Cherry MX Silent switches. The Katar gaming mouse is described as “compact and ultra-lightweight,” and the MM300 mouse pad is, well, available in various sizes.

The Strafe RGB Silent keyboard is essentially identical to its predecessor, but with one major exception — this keyboard uses Cherry MX Silent key switches, similar to MX Reds but 30 percent quieter than other mechanical switches. The Cherry MX Silents are temporarily exclusive to Corsair while another version of the Strafe RGB has been crafted with Cherry MX Blue switches.

As for the Silents, they’re made in Germany, and feature gold-crosspoint contacts, gold-plated contact closures, and pressure-resistant metal-alloy springs. Likewise, even as it has removed much of the noise associated with mechanical gaming keyboards, Cherry claims to have preserved the speed, feel, and responsiveness for which it is well known.

According to HEXUS, the Strafe RGB Silent is available now both stateside and in the UK, with a list price of $160 and £140, respectively.

You’ll probably roll your eyes after learning Corsair describes its Katar mouse design as both “simple and deadly.” The company did, however, work with some of the most reputable pro-gaming teams in the world to create it. Topping the list of features integrated in the Katar is its 8,000 DPI optical sensor with precise tracking, as well as its highly portable 85-gram weight, and an ambidextrous design with rubber grips on the sides.

In addition, the Katar provides four buttons that can all be programmed for “anything from simple remaps to complex macros.” Also convenient is that DPI tuning can be accomplished on the fly. MSRP for the Katar is $40 if you’re in the US, or £29 if you’re a UK resident.

Likely to be ignored amidst all this excitement is Corsair’s new gaming mousepad, dubbed the MM300. At a thickness of 3mm, it’s likely the perfect companion for the Katar, exhibiting a “high-endurance” surface for high-DPI gamers as well as a slip-resistant rubber base. Its stitched edges have been reinforced, meaning you shouldn’t have to worry about peeling, curling, or fraying.

The Corsair MM300 comes in three sizes, each with their own price point. The small, 256mm x 210mm version will set you back $15 or £10, depending on what currency you use, while the medium (360mm x 300mm) and large (930mm x 300mm) variants cost $20 and $30, respectively. That converts to £13 and £2o for our British readers.

The Corsair Strafe RGB Silent, Katar gaming mouse, and MM300 mouse pad are available now on both sides of the pond.

Usually $1,500, this HP gaming PC with an RTX 4070 is $800 today
The HP Omen 40L sitting on a coffee table.

While gaming laptops tend to get all the love and attention these days, that doesn't mean that the gaming desktop market hasn't also been booming quite significantly. It used to be that you had to build your PC from scratch or buy from a boutique seller, but now even the big brands have gotten into the pre-built gaming PC market. One great example is the Omen 40L gaming desktop from HP, with this entry-level configuration going for just $800 rather than the usual $1,500, which amounts to a whopping $700 discount.

Why you should buy the OMEN 40L Gaming Desktop
The Omen 40L has a lot of configurations to pick from, and while they aren't all a great deal, this one starts on an excellent foundation. At the heart of the build is an RTX 4060, an excellent 1080p GPU that should handle most modern games just fine with high graphical fidelity and above 100 frames per second. That said, you can do quite a few upgrades in the Customizer, and probably one of the better options would be the RTX 4060 Ti for an extra $160, although if you're willing to spend all of the discount, you could also potentially go for an RTX 4080 for $990.

Get this HP 17-inch laptop for $300 instead of the usual $660
The HP 17-inch laptop against a white background.

Seventeen-inch laptops toe the line between portability and size, making them more expensive than your average laptop. Some of the best 17-inch laptops can easily cost you thousands of dollars. Luckily, there HP has come up with a very budget-friendly solution in the form of the HP laptop 17z, and while it's not one of the best laptops on the market, it is an excellent budget-oriented choice for a 17-inch laptop. Even better, HP currently discounts it down to $300 from the usual $560 price tag, which is a significant $260 off.

Why you should buy the HP Laptop 17z
As the name implies, the HP Laptop 17z has a large 17.3-inch screen running a 1920 x 1080 resolution and can hit a peak brightness of 250nits, which isn't a lot, but it's good enough for a well-lit room, especially with its anti-glare coating. You could potentially upgrade to a touch version of the screen for $30, but since it would knock the resolution down to 1600 x 900, it's not worth it, especially with a larger 17.3-inch screen. What will be worth the upgrade is taking the networking option from the Wi-Fi5 and Bluetooth 4.2 standard up to the Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 standard for an extra $20, which will make sure your laptop has a strong connection for streaming or doing online meetings and will be future-proof for at least the next 5-6 years.
