Rise of the Tomb Raider hits PC January 28

Rise of the Tomb Raider highlighted a big holiday season for Microsoft, which also included titles like Halo 5: Guardians and Forza Motorsport 6. The game was originally announced as a timed Xbox exclusive — available on both the Xbox One and 360 — but in just a few weeks, Lara Croft’s latest adventure is making its way to the PC.

On January 28, one day earlier than the rumored Amazon listing, Rise of the Tomb Raider will be available on both the Windows Store (which Microsoft emphasized in its own announcement) and Steam. The game will also be available via the Square Enix store, which is the exclusive seller of the collector’s edition. As with the console versions, it includes a Lara Croft statue, steelbook, journal, and a necklace, for $150. The statue is among the most impressive I’ve seen in a collector’s edition, showing Croft standing on top of an icy rock, ice pick in one hand and a glow-stick in the other.

“PC players are a passionate, devoted audience and we know they’ll embrace the version created for their systems,” says Crystal Dynamics’ Ron Rosenberg in the official announcement. The port is being developed in collaboration with Nixxes Software, the same developer behind the PC, PS3, and PS4 versions of the original (rebooted) Tomb Raider, as well as the recent Lara Croft twin-stick shooters and both modern Deus Ex games. The PC version of 2013’s Tomb Raider received excellent reviews from both critics and users, so there’s no need to worry about the game turning out like Arkham Knight.

If you don’t have a PC or an Xbox platform, you can still play Rise of the Tomb Raider; you’re just going to have to wait a little bit longer. The PlayStation 4 version is expected to arrive by the end of the year. Of course, you’ll have Uncharted 4 to keep you busy, as well.

GTA VI finally gets a price tag and a no-disc rule for physical edition
It will be a single-player experience when it lands on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19th.

Rockstar Games has finally confirmed the asking price of its highly anticipated game, Grand Theft Auto VI aka GTA 6. The game is going to cost $79.99 in the US for the standard edition, and if you're willing to plonk extra cash on the Ultimate Edition, you will have to part ways with $99.99 per copy. Pre-orders for the game are starting today, June 26th, at midnight, and you will be able to reserve a copy for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X.

The asking price is definitely on the higher side. However, it's still below the $100+ speculations that were floating just a few weeks ago. By PC and console gaming standards, $80 as a starting price is still quite a high fee. So far, only Nintendo has been able to sell games with a similar price tag and has courted plenty of backlash for it, as well.

Netflix just unveiled Unhinged, and it might be the strangest thing the streamer has ever put in its games tab. Arriving June 30, this interactive horror story does not need a console or controller. Instead, your own smartphone becomes the entire interface, and you receive phone calls that ring straight through your actual device mid-game.
