Cartoon Network to get new Justice League animated series with Kevin Conroy, Mark Hamill

Cartoon Network is bringing viewers more of the beloved Justice League superheroes. DC Comics announced on its blog Friday that the channel will soon be the home of Justice League Action, a new, quarter-hour series from Warner Bros. Animation. Better still, the series will feature the voices of Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill, who previously voiced Batman and the Joker, respectively, in previous installments of the TV franchise.

In the new series, Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman will join faces with a rotating group of fellow DC Comics heroes to continue keeping the world safe. They’ll have to deal with a variety of dangerous threats, from invaders from space to strange magical forces. At just 11 minutes apiece, episodes are described as “tightly-paced,” but they’ll still be action-packed and “exciting.”

Conroy, who has worked on the series’ predecessors, Justice League and Justice League Unlimited, made sure to spread word of the latest addition, sharing a “photo” on Twitter of himself and Hamill.

Conroy and Hamill’s well-known voices will be joined by those of several other familiar voice actors, including James Wood (Lex Luthor), Diedrich Bader (Booster Gold), and more. The creative side is also packed with DC Comics vets. Sam Register (Teen Titans Go!) will serve as executive producer, while Butch Lukic (Justice League), Alan Burnett (Batman: The Animated Series), and Jim Krieg (Green Lantern: The Animated Series) will produce.

The Justice League’s TV and film presence has been especially notable of late and looks to continue to be. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to hit theaters in March, with a two-part Justice League film coming in 2017 and 2019. Fans also have numerous standalone films starring Justice League characters to look forward to, so it’s definitely an exciting time to be a DC Comics lover.

No release date for Justice League Action has yet to be announced.

That should go a long way toward helping plan your movie nights so you can catch these films and shows before they depart.

May is one of the longest months of the year, and Hulu subscribers may need all 31 days to catch some of their favorite movies before they leave at the end of the month. The brilliant satire Thank You For Smoking, the intense noir thriller L.A. Confidential, The Wrestler, Taken, Salt, Life of Pi, Scarface, and more are all on their way out of the door.
