These two Qardio health devices will anchor Target’s Connected Health section

Target and Qardio have their fingers on the pulse of some compelling new wellness technologies. And Qardio, Inc. announced today that two of its products, QardioArm and QardioBase, will anchor the retail giant’s new “Connected Health” section. The devices are geared toward improving heart health, and overall health.

Target recently unveiled the section, which aims to revolutionize shoppers’ in-store and online experience when it comes to health and wellness by providing interactive access to medical devices and services. Shoppers will be able to visit in-store Connected Health sections in the retailer’s pharmacies to try out these products. The aim is for customers to be able to access (not to mention buy) technology that facilitates better health.

“We are honored to be part of Target’s leadership initiative to bring digital and connected health to the forefront of the customer experience,” said Alexis Zervoglos, Qardio’s chief business officer, in a related press release. “Customers increasingly seek to take control of their health and Qardio’s innovative products offer convenient access to the most advanced medically-accurate technologies in the form of beautifully designed health-monitoring devices, perfectly fitting the modern lifestyle.”

QardioArm and QardioBase are, respectively, a smart blood pressure monitor and a wireless smart scale, and these two devices align perfectly with Target’s goals. QardioArm is a small and portable device used for measuring your blood pressure and heart rate, with features like graphs and charts for interpreting its measurements, a relaxing and informative slideshow, and more. Meanwhile, QardioBase measures weight, BMI (body mass index), and full body composition. You can track progress toward weight-loss goals, and the device recognizes multiple users.

Qardio isn’t new to Target. The company’s products have been sold in the retailer’s stores since fall 2015. As staples in the Connected Health section, though, they’ll now likely be trialed by a larger range of customers, who may end up deciding to bring Qardio products home with them.

The Narwal Freo X Plus is an entry-level robot vacuum loaded with premium features
The Freo X Plus vacuuming pet hair.

Narwal launched the Freo X Ultra earlier this year, and we found it to be an exceptional robot vacuum and mop combo -- though its $1,400 price tag made it a luxury item for most shoppers. Thankfully, many of the Freo X Ultra's best features can be found on the newly launched Narwal Freo X Plus, which offers an affordable alternative to the flagship vacuum and mop combo.

The Freo X Plus should be much more appealing to frugal shoppers, as it clocks in at just $400. That's a full $1,000 cheaper than the Ultra, yet it still holds up to seven weeks of dust, can lift its mopping plate when traveling on carpet, and produces up to 7,800 Pa of suction to pull out dirt and debris from your carpets. It can even apply 6 Newton units of downward pressure while mopping, allowing it to tackle tough stains with ease.
