Marvel’s WHIH news service has more breaking news on Captain America: Civil War

You know you’ve built a deep cinematic universe when you need a fictional news service to keep track of it all. WHIH Newsfront has been giving us the 411 on Tony Stark & Co. for a while now and, in advance of the release of Captain America: Civil War, the outlet has released the third in a series of viral videos meant to promote the film.

Like the other two, this latest spot features reporter Christine Everhart (Leslie Bibb) in the anchor role and The Daily Show’s Al Madrigal serves as a (serious) political correspondent named Will Adams. As reported by ComingSoon, the promo also features references to Ant-Man, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and other Marvel Cinematic Universe properties.

According to this segment, all the butt-kicking and name-taking being done by the Avengers comes with a price … a hefty price. The cost of the cleanup has sparked a debate about how much collateral damage superheroes should be allowed to incur while saving the universe, with Madrigal’s character pointing out that the alternative — the destruction of life as we know it — is not so attractive either.

Clearly, Marvel’s marketing team has taken great pains to make these reports as authentic as possible, and the addition of the news and stock tickers at the bottom are a very nice touch.

If you’re wondering where you’ve seen Everhart’s character before, the reporter had a dalliance with Tony Stark in Iron Man and also appeared briefly in Iron Man 2. There’s continuity in the White House, too, as President Ellis (William Sadler) is mentioned in the report, and also occupies the Oval Office in both Iron Man 3 and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

You can check out the entire three-minute promo above, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see more “breaking news” from WHIH before Captain America: Civil War hits theaters on May 6.

Logo for WWE Backlash France.

A WWE Premium Live Event (PLE) is heading to Lyon Metropolis for the first time for WWE Backlash France 2024. Since the formation of TKO in September 2023, WWE has prioritized global expansion. In 2024, Backlash France is the second PLE to be held outside the U.S., and it won't be the last. Five of the next six WWE PLEs will take place outside the U.S.

Heading into Backlash, WWE is entering the "American Nightmare Era." After finishing his story at WrestleMania 40, Cody Rhodes is now the Undisputed WWE Champion. A different era means a new crop of challengers for Rhodes. First up is AJ Styles, a former two-time WWE champion. Rhodes must bring his A-game if he wants to walk out of France as champion.

If you have to watch one Star Wars movie this May the 4th, stream this one
Luke looking off into the binary sunset before dying in The Last Jedi.

Every Star Wars fan has a favorite movie, and many Star Wars fans also hate at least one of the entries in one of their favorite franchises. That can make the exercise of choosing the perfect Star Wars movie to watch on May the 4th difficult. For all of the love this fan base has shown to the franchise over the years, it's also a fan base that has strong opinions about why one movie or another is worthy of your time.

This May 4, though, I'd recommend watching Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Almost undoubtedly the most controversial entry in the saga, one that makes some people furious and others jump for joy, The Last Jedi is worthy of your attention, whether you like what it's doing or not. Here are three reasons you should check it out:
Luke gets to live the Jedi legend
