Product Description

The WarioWare team took an idea so wacky, it could only be made with the latest technology: the Wii Remote controller! Wario stumbles into an old building called the Temple of Form. Inside, he finds a mystical treasure called the Form Baton. There are many ways to hold and move the baton (called "forms"), and legend has it that if the holder follows the forms, he can overcome any challenge. With this discovery, the form craze spreads and soon everybody is doing their best to master the moves. Features: • Revolutionary Fun: With hundreds of microgames, this game is just as wild as you'd expect from the name WarioWare, but the gameplay has been revolutionized. Under Wario's tutelage and with the help of the Wii Remote, players will swing, spin and squat their way to victory. • Tons and Tons of Microgames: With more than 200 lightning-quick microgames and controls that range from scribbling to flailing, WarioWare: Smooth Moves takes interactive gaming to a whole new level. All players need is confidence, a Wii Remote and their best moves. • Off-Screen Party: With games that are as much fun to play as they are to watch people play, WarioWare: Smooth Moves brings the party to its feet. It's hilarious for players and audiences alike.

I would advise being cautious in buying the used version of this game. It gave me this error directly out of the box. I have bought a new copy.

If you're looking for a game for the Wii that REALLY shows what the Wii controller can do, look no further - This is it and then some. It's fun, addicting, fast, simple, and is as difficult as you want to take it. You can easily beat the game in an hour or two, but it doesn't end there, that simply unlocks multi-player mode, which is the highlight of the game anyway.

There's a few different multi-player modes, which will have everyone in the room waving their arms around like idiots (but in a good way of course) and each one is unique and exciting.

Another highlight of this game, which I didn't hear anything about prior to playing it myself, is the way each "form" is taught. A "form" is the way of holding the controller for a particular micro game. A very serious-toned voice explains how to hold the controller, while the screen turns gray and soft dramatic music plays. Of course what the voice is actually saying is ridiculous, which goes perfectly with the theme of the game.

One more thing that adds an edge to this game is the use of the Mii feature, which is very well integrated and gives you a chance to see your Miis in something besides Wii Sports.

If you want to have fun with your Wii, or you're looking for a great multi-player game, here you go. Shopping doesn't get any easier than that.

Smooth Moves is great fun. If you've played other Wario Ware titles, you know what to expect - several characters, each with a simple story, where you play frantic micro-games. Since this is on the Wii, the games focus on the Wii-mote. There are various forms where you hold the wii-mote in certain ways and you quickly switch between games. It keeps track of which games you've played and beating different character's chapters unlock new chapters or other game modes. There's also a wii-mote + nunchuck mode. It has several multi-player options as well in which you basically take turns playing the micro-games.

The presentation on this game is absolutely wonderful. A soothing voice provides a somewhat sarcastic introduction to each form. You can play through each micro-game on it's own (each has three levels) or try to beat your scores for the different characters. The story is just enough to provide some color to why you are doing all this. The characters are all great as always; who doesn't love Mona, Ashley, and 9-volt? Rather than cramming motion controls into what should be a standard-controller game, Smooth Moves is possibly the best demonstration of what the Wii-mote was intended for.

This game is outstanding. The integration of the Wii's motion controls into the 200+ microgames that this game has to offer. It has a very fun and addictive singleplayer mode, and a place to play any microgame that you have played already. The fun doesn't stop there though. The multiplayer mode in this game is outstanding; some of the best on the Wii. I love this game because of the sheer amount of fun and joy that is experienced while playing this game. I also admire the many different art styles, differing from microgame to microgame. I would recommend this game to anyone who wants to have a laugh, use the Wii motion controls to their full extent, and especially to people who want to play video games with their friends. It is a must-have Wii game for any casual, traditional and hardcore game.

This review will be very simple, I will just list a few pros and cons that I feel are essential to know, so I won't bore you with a huge long review and get right to it!

PROS:
Casual Gaming
One of the best casual games I have ever played. Very easy to pick up and play for a minute of 20 if you wanna.

Fun:
Extremely fun! i have played almost all games (203 games total) and they are outrageous and hilarious

Replay Value:
I consider it high!....200+ games, and you can play them over and over again, they will get harder!

CONS:

Multiplayer:
They really dropped the ball here, it honestly sucks! You are forced to pass the controller between players, and this becomes annoying because the game has about 18 different motions or poses you have to do for each game (for example, where to hold wiimote) This is annoying because the transitions between minigames are only about 3 seconds long

Story:
It is nonexistent, although this game consists of 200+ minigames, none of the levels are connected. At least the GameBoy version connected the characters together. This just feels like a bunch of games thrown in to one place

BOTTOM LINE:
This game is fun and funny. It is a very good casual experience and I recommend you at least rent it. I would not pay more than 20 bucks for it

This game is so-so, but in sense of contrasting good parts and bad. It is amazingly innovative and unique. But it also seems slapped together and a bit Japan-centric (you know, kids with big eyes, Anime-style cartoons, everything is suishi and rice, you'll need sake' to play this). The little mini-movies are strange and don't make much sense. Maybe because I don't understand the whole Wario/Mario world and characters' backgrounds. I do like the actual games you can unlock, like "ping-pong paddle the ball up a building". The game is fun, yes but worth $30, not $50, I wouldn't rate it higher than the games that shipped with the console.

I really love this game. I remember playing it as a kid and how my muscles would be sore from dancing around. I ordered it as an adult in a fit of nostalgia and I don't regret it. It's not exactly as I remember, but just as fun. The different wiimote positions may be difficult to get a hang of, but after a couple of tries, I got them right. Just make sure you have the sensor bar at the right height. The minigame difficulties vary from really easy to challenging, and they're mixed together in the levels. You have to think fast for a lot of them. But even if you struggle, you still have fun (as evinced by my childhood enjoyment of the game).

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this game. It's the 8th wonder of the world

You see, when I was young, games were very simple. The games that I came to play are now what are considered the quintessential games of their genres. The ones that set the standard. C&C, CS, Super Smash, Super Mario 64, etc, etc. As I entered into my late teens, games were really just more technologically superior versions of these old figureheads. They were more complicated, more immersive and more visually stunning. But nothing really made me stop and go "wow that is a great game". But then I encountered Smooth Moves. And it was the first time that a game truly gave me joy. I think in my late teens, games became more arduous. They became things that were about collecting and completing. The advent of trophies and achievements made gaming less about fun and more about completing something. Games moved in a direction that was not as free spirited. But Smooth Moves, stood against all that. It was nonsensical, silly and approachable. It is a game about playing games. The mechanics are simple. Everything about it is simple. But it is just so much fun. When you play the game you just play the game. You play a game. There is no collecting, there is no achievement hunting, there is no nonsense you would consider to be like work. It was just a game. And it got harder and faster. But you were getting better. And giving that this game is just a bunch of mini games, it's really replay-able. Sure, overtime you end up seeing all the mini-games and it may not be surprising, but interestingly enough it remains fun. All in all, this is a wonderful game. Its the most game that a game can be and it is just so fun. At times it almost feels like the Wii was built for this game. Absolutely, get it before they all disappear.

Once you beat the single player mode and unlock all the mini-games, the multiplayer becomes a whole lot better. Even if you aren't into the mini-game mayhem, there is an awesome darts game that can also provide many hours of entertainment.

I bought this as a replacement for my lost version and it was easily worth the $40
